Characters1) Nicholas Emewalts/ Kryst (nicknamed as Nic by most)

-The main protagonist of the series. A wanderer and the only survivor of the

destruction of his homeland, the island of Onyx Regios. Although appeared to behappy-go-lucky, he seemed to be hiding a dark secret. Has a habit of addressing

someone by his/her full name. For some reason, his left eye is able to discern

between real humans and Crystles.

2) Charlotte Mana Angela (nicknamed as Charl by Nic)-The main heroine. Found and raised in a church, she is kind and cheerful although

could be oblivious at some point. In dire situations, she is always ready to sacrifice

herself for her friends. She also appeared to be full of talents except cooking, where

as a running gag, everyone else other than Nic tried to avoid eating her cooking.

3) Brad Brit-A cocky yet serious billionaire playboy and philanthropist from the city of

Marcrearia. He held charity parties to target corrupt officials. Then, adopting the

identity of Robin Hood, he stole riches from them and give it to the poor citizens.

However, his parties also served a darker purpose.

4) Rolph Durg-Once a normal researcher from Aquafrequem, he was captured by a madman and

turned into a bio-weapon that rivals Krysts power. Prior to his transformation, Rolphwas prideful and respected by his colleagues due to his invention of the Inertia

Disruption Ions (IDI).

5) Seran Volken-A member of the mercenary guild, The Bloodied Coffin. Trained at a very young age,

she follows her leaders orders no matter what the outcome may be. Like Nic, she is

able to discern between real humans and Crystles.

6) Giovanni Grest-From the city of Grovole, he takes care of the Faunas in the Petting Zoo, especially

the Cicada Bat, Shriek. With his extensive knowledge of herbs and Faunas, he acts as

the brain and medic of the team.

7) Senator Birch & Pamela-Both brilliant and crazy, Senator Birch is known for eradicating Centra Novas reign

of horror years ago. Meanwhile, he seemed to know everything that happened and

baked birthday cakes to celebrate some of the events which often ended up eaten

by his assistant and errand girl, Pamela, as leftovers.

IntroductionYear 3560, I wouldnt say that technology is as advanced as they said in science

fiction. In fact, it hasnt changed much in the past century. How do I know that? The

fact is that I have been living through this century150 years to be more precise.

While some of you think that I would look like a bag of bones like what a 150

years old would look like, I actually look exactly the same for the past 132 years as an

18 years old girl. Before you accuse me of witchcraft, I would like to say that Im not

the only one with the eternal youth. For the past century, the entire human race

havent be able to age. Well, the rest of the human race anyway.

Why am I saying this? While we stopped aging after reaching a specific age, we

are still mortal. By any means, either by nature or the hands of men, people could

still die. While some considered our eternal youth as a gift, we considered it as a

curse. With a curse came a greater one, one that threatens our existence. The

human race was no longer able to reproduce. With that, we are the last generation

of the human race.

On the other hand, the human race is not the only one which changed. The

entire world also changed. At the year 3000, there was The Mundi Transfigure.

Continents shifted and the climate changed drastically. It wiped out half of the

human race. At the aftermath, continents are broken either into a single island or a

system of islands. With that, the ecosystem also changed. The once great beasts that

ruled the skies, land and sea were replaced by Faunas, monsters similar to the

former beasts.

As the human race now live in peace, I feared that someday, there will be

something greater than The Mundi Transfigure that will wipe out the rest of

humanity. From the storybooks I borrowed from the library, I often read about the

Wielder, warriors who wield extraordinary powers to protect the human race fromannihilation. If only he is real

In reality, we no longer living in the old ruins of Earth but surviving in the new

world of Zepherium Magna, named after Zapheus Marda, the man who led the

surviving human race to its current state after The World Transformation.

Time: Monday, 18th

June 3560 Place: Central City Church

Bells were ringing as the choir was singing to a spectacular event that happened in the

grand and wondrous Central City Church, located at the heart of the island of Centra Nova.Although the human race no longer able to reproduce since 2 centuries ago, weddings were

still held as a proof and seal of the love and bond between 2 individuals: the bride and the

groom. There was also a rumour that the wedding enabled both individuals noticed each

others status as long as they remained loving each other.

At the podium inside the church stood an elderly priest, smiling to the fact that another

couple was ready to form of pact as a proof of their love. Beside the priest stood the groom,

nervous and grinding his teeth in anxious. His shaking was stopped by the priest as he put

his hand at the groom, nodding at the shaky soon-to-be husband of a lucky woman. With a

sigh of relief, the groom smiled back at the priest, noting that everything will be fine.

As soon as the man readied himself, the attendants of the wedding turned back to the

opening doors of the church as the organ was played. A flock of Fairy Doves flew in as the

bride walked in. Accompanied by the radiant glow from the birds, the bride looked like a

princess. With the Fairy Doves represented love and bonds, the flock flew around the

woman like the stars surrounding the Moon. The groom was stunned at the beauty of his

soon-to-be-wife. As the bride was standing beside the groom, the priest began his speech,We are here on such a special day to celebrate the love and bond between two special

individuals

Meanwhile, at an office located nearby, music could be heard as a man opened the

oven and took out its content. Satisfied, he placed it on a table as he picked up a tube full of

frosty. As the man decorated, he sang along with the music. Happy birthday to you. Happy

birthday to you. Happy birthday to

Back in the wedding, the music stopped as the attendants gasped. Between the shocked

bride and groom, the priest was shaking violently as if he was possessed by a devil. This

lasted for several minutes. Then, he stood still like a log. As the attendants started to panic,

the door slowly opened. From there, a boy walked in. He had black hair with a green streak.

He also possessed green eyes and wore a green and blue coat. There was black lining

around his left eye and a blue crystal was on his left cheek. In his hand was a parcel. The boy

looked at the parcel then looked up before looking back at the thing. Seconds later, he

spoke.

Excuse me, am I in Central?

As the attendants looked on, the boys expression turned into a serious one as his left

eye changed. His sclera turned black, his iris turned red and his pupil turned light blue. Theboy stood for a moment, looking around the church. Through his left eye, he noticed the

priests skeletal system was different than the other people in the church. While normal

human skeletal system looked natural, the priests skeleton looked more crystalline.

Realized what may be the outcome, the boy immediately shouted out, Everyone, get away

from the priest!

In confusion, everyone else turned to the priest. Smirking, the priest dug his fingers

deep into his chest. However, no blood flowed out from the wound. Slowly, he ripped off

pieces of his skin, revealing his true form, a crystalline creature. As the shocked attendants

looked on, the creatures left hand turned into a long, bony claw and proceeded to stab the

bride and the groom. Although the creature missed its mark at the twos chest but the stab

through both of their stomach proved to be fatal as they dropped dead.

Although it missed its target, the creature still smirked to be able to kill someone. It was

too distracted in its thought to see two knives thrown at it. The knives pierced through both

of its arms, pinning it at the wall.

The music stopped as the man finished decorating his cake. Upon looking at the name

the cake was addressed to, the mans smile turned into a scorn. Crystles, said the man.

Then, the music resumed as he turned around and continued singing. Happy Birthday to

you!!!

The pinned Crystle looked up and saw a boy running towards it. The boy flicked his left

hand, extending the blade hidden in his left bracer. Just as he was near the creature, hispath was blocked off by the choir group. The boys left eye reacted once again to the group

as they tore off their skins, revealing themselves to be the same creatures, except they

retained most of its human features, have smaller claws and have less armour.

Great, Gemis, said the boy as he took out his sword from its sheath. As he was

surrounded by the Gemis, the boy could see that he was outnumbered. 10 against one,

what are the odds?

One of the infant creatures charged towards the boy but it was too slow as it found

itself slashed at the abdomen. At first, red blood spurted out from its wound but it turned

blue moments later. Two more charged towards the boy. He used his sword to hold off the

first one then used his hidden blade to dispatch the second one. As soon as the Gemi fell, he

withdrew his sword, causing the other one to fell over. As it was trying to regain its balance,

the boy struck his sword through its torso. Another Gemi appeared in front of him. The boy

kicked the body of the fallen creature, releasing it from the sharp blade and it tumbled at its

comrade. The Gemi was too busy trying to push off its fallen comrade to notice the edge of

the blade penetrating its head. As he placed his sword back into its sheath, the bodies of the

four Gemis turned stiff before shattered like stained glass.

While the boy was too busy fighting off the Gemis, some of them turned their attention

towards the attendants. Frightened, they scattered in all directions. However, a girl was

pushed aside by the panicked attendants and fell. The girl looked up and found herself

surrounded by three Gemis. She closed her eyes as they attacked her, certain of her demise

but before the creatures claws could make contact with their target, they stopped. The girl

opened her eyes and almost immediately, the creatures shattered into pieces. Amidst the

falling pieces was the boy, dagger in both hands. Get out of here, said the boy as he

helped the girl up.

As he saw that the girl managed to escape, he failed to notice the remaining three

Gemis before it was too late. Two of the Gemis grabbed hold on both of his arms, renderinghim unable to move. The third one pulled back its arm and then, thrusting it through the

boys chest with a sheer amount of force. Blood gushed out from the boys chest but the

creatures were shocked. Rather than the usual red that humans have, it also wasnt blue as

theirs. The colour of the blood was quite unique as if it was a combination of both species.

Sorry but many tried that before and it didnt end well, said the boy as he coughed out the

greenish blood. Then, blades extended from the soles of his right shoes. The boy kicked the

Gemi in front of him at the chest. The creature shattered but its arm still stuck through his

chest. To make matters worse, the hidden blade at his shoe was broken by the blow.

And I just have that fixed, he grumbled. Although frightened, the remaining two

Gemis still hold on his arms, disabling his movements. I dont want to do this considering

that these things are already broken due to its age but you chaps leave me no choice, he

said as he stretched the second finger of both of his hands, making his hand to look like a

gun. After a deafening sound, smoke poured out from both of his bracers. At first, the two

Gemis thought that their captives plan failed and laughed. Then, they noticed something

blue flowing down their heads. Reaching their foreheads, they noticed the source of the

blue liquid was from their foreheads, now a gaping hole. Releasing the boy, the two

dropped dead as they shattered.

The boy stood up and checked both of his bracers. The Crystle that he pinned escaped

as well. As he expected, the spring inside them was broken so the hidden gun function was

no longer available. Judging from the age of the bracers, they seemed to be irreparable. He

checked his left bracer and relieved that the hidden blade function of it was still functional.The boy removed his right bracer and put it into his bag. He tried to walk and noticed

something dangling at his chest. The arm of one of the Gemis was still intact through his

chest. Mustering his courage, he pulled it out with all of his might. The process was

extremely painful but he endured it until the end.

The boy threw down the arm and it shattered. His wound was healing slowly but his

clothings were torn and stained in greenish blood. He drew a weird circle at the ground and

then removed his coat, putting it on top of the circle. The boy placed his hand on the circleand concentrated. Soon, the torn part of the coat was restored although the blood

remained. As he put on his restored coat, the boy was relieved that there was no casualties

other than the bride and groom.

The boy walked towards the dead bride and groom. Luckily for him, the both werent

stabbed at the heart by the escaped creature so they wont be changed like the choir group.

He continued looking at the bodies and noticed that they were holding each others hand as

they died. Saddened, he kneel down. Love will be eternal even in death. Requiescat in

pace, he said as he closed both of their eyes.

Exiting the church, he noticed the escaped people from the church were staring at him

but his focus was at the parcel he kept in his bag. On the bright side, Im standing on the

island of Centra Nova where Central was supposed to be. Bad news is that Crystles are here.

I guess my delivery has to be delayed, thought the boy. Suddenly, he heard a noise from

behind. Hidden blade extended, he turned around and faced the assailant, only ended up

frightening the girl he just saved from the claws of the Gemis.

Shaking, the girl asked, Excuse me, I just wanted to thank you for fighting thosethings.

Who knows whatll happen if you didnt showed up and found them out? It would be a

massacre in there. Although she was shaking, the girls voice was calm and steady.

Wish I could say the same for that couple. Getting killed in the happiest day of their

lives, said the boy as he retracted the hidden blade.

At least its better than getting turned into those things. I

Curious, the boy asked her, Whats wrong?

Moments before the ceremony, I saw the priest turned into that creature you foughtand stabbed the choir group. Since then, they been acting weirdly. Even my friend, Houki,

didnt recognize me. Then in the ceremony, they changed into those things you called

Gemis Before she could continue the conversation, the girl broke down in tears.

The boy wanted to comfort her but something else was on his mind. Shaking away those

thoughts, he put his hand at her shoulder. Im sorry for your loss, he said.

Its alright, I want to thank you instead. One of those Gemis you destroyed was Houki,

said the girl as she looked up, tears well ing up in her eyes. Please, I want you to tell me

about those Gemis, that creature that turned Houki into one of them. You seemed to know

a lot about them.

Sorry but the people with that knowledge usually either ended up dead or turned intoa Gemi to be later killed by me

Im not asking you. Im BEGGING you. I just dont want any more people ended up like

Houki.

The boy was stunned at her words. The words she said was similar to a vow he took

many years ago. He looked at the girl again. Tears were still flowing from her eyes but her

face was that of full determination to destroy the threat that turned her friend into a

monster.

Sighed, the boy gave in. Fine but Ill need you to do me a favour.

The girl jumped up, both delighted and curious. Whatll that favour be? she asked.

The boy took the parcel from his bag and showed the address attached to it to the girl.

Do you know where I can reach this address? It written that its somewhere in Central, he

said.

Oh, I see. Well, youre already in Central. As for that address, itll be easier for me to

take you there. It involved a long train ride and many twists and turns. After all, you could

tell me everything on the way. Im Charlotte Mana Angela. And you are? asked the girl.

Nicholas Emewalts. Glad to be your acquaintance, Charlotte Mana Angela, replied the

boy.

You can call me Charl, Nic, said the girl.

Very well, Charl, replied Nicholas as he smiled. Charlotte blushed for a moment before

continuing, I got to get back to check on the others in the church. How about we go

tomorrow?

Time: Tuesday, 19th

June 3560 Place: Central City Train Station

The next day, the two reached the train station. Alright Nic, we just have to go aboard

the train to Parliament and well be near your destination. However, itll take about an hour

or two to reach there by foot. Itll be faster by train, said Charlotte.

Thank you. Central is really a big city. Glad Im not walking there. By the way, why are

you wearing a robe? asked Nicholas.

Before the girl could answer, she saw people in white robed asking around. Quickly, she

led Nicholas into the train.

Whoa, whats the hurry? You went pushy as soon as you saw those priests, said the boy.

Of course I did. I werent supposed to be outside of the church, replied a panicked

Charlotte.

Oh, someones been a naughty girl,

Wh-What do you mean by that? asked the girl, her face all red.

Sorry about that, Charl. Sometimes I love to tease.

Meanie. As she finished her line, the girl pouted.

Soon, the train departed from the station. Charlotte looked at the window, amazed at

the scenery as the train looped around the city. Beside her, Nicholas looked on. Aside from

her long, flowing blonde hair swaying at whatever direction her head tilted, her purple eyes

widened as the girl was fascinated of the sight she saw outside. The boy could not help but

to smile at her reaction. She may have a serious face at firstbut in general, shes actuallyquite cute,he thought. As he continued looking at the girls face, he realized he forgotten

something important. His hand shaking, he asked Charlotte, Hey, Charlotte Ma

I already told you to call me Charl, said the girl before he could finish his line.

Right, Charl. You said that you arent supposed to be outside of the church, right?

Not exactly. While trapped inside the church, I studied many fields including geography,

mathematics and physics. I also studied the railway system here so I may know every nook

and cranny here.

I can only give you fifty percent guarantee, said Charlotte with a wink. Just in case,

prepare to be end up hopelessly lost. In the meantime, how about we talked about those

Crystles?

Okay, how to start this? The Crystles have many names. Some said that they are the

next evolution of mankind. Some said theyre results of a failed experiment to produce

humans with no weaknesses. One thing for sure, they have been here for a very, very long

time. Any questions?

Well, Houki and the other members of the choir group turned into those things. You

called them Gemis, right? Are they different than the Crystles?

Yes, but theyre not exactly different than a Crystle. You could say that a Gemi is an

infant Crystle.

Infant? But how they reproduce?

Crystles do reproduce in many ways. So far, I found three. One of them is through their

reproduction organs which are similar to ours. The second way is the rarest way. It involves

the person to die in a horrific manner but his heart must be intact although the chance of

him turning into a Crystle is one in a million. Those who were successfully turned into a

Crystle are called natural Crystle. The third way is the most common one. Do you know

what a Heart Maze is?

Heart Maze?

A Heart Maze is located somewhere in your heart. The memories that kept you going

through the rest of your life are stored there either be happy ones or sad ones. Its basically

where your humanity is. Whenever a Crystle or Gemi attacked, its target is the heart. Upon

successfully stabbing through the heart, the victims Heart Maze will be intruded by an Inner

Crystle. The Inner Crystle then destroys everything inside the Heart Maze, destroying its

hosts humanity, killing him, allowing the Inner Crystle to take over. When the process is

done, the host will no longer a human but a monster.

Houki Charlotte looked down, saddened by the thoughts that her dear friend have

turned into such a monster by such an insane method. Nicholas wanted to comfort her but

she stopped him. Im alright. Im wont cry. Im sure she wants me to move along rather

than doing nothing other than sobbing. You mentioned that the Gemis are infant Crystles.

So do they have some sort of life cycle? she asked.

Nicholas thought to himself for a while, trying to explain everything in a sense that

Charlotte could understand. After a while, he spoke, Yes but its way different than ours.

After a victim is taken over by his Inner Crystle, his body turned into a Gemi. Like Crystles,

Gemis could turned into their hosts form to blend in with other people. After a while, the

Gemi matured and its body turned stiff and moulted and a Crystle is born. However, a

natural Crystle, like its namesake, turned into a Crystle after the host is dead. So far, I

found about 3 types of Crystles. The one I fought in that church was a Level 1 Crystle and

the result of a matured Gemi. It still retain some human features but its left hand could turn

into a claw to create more Crystles. Then, theres the Level 2 Crystles. Like how Gemis

moulted into Level 1 Crystles, Level 2 Crystles moulted from Level 1s. They come in many

forms although the only human feature they retained is a human skull. Level 2s gained new

abilities and could use many weaponries. The Level 2s also gained unique personalities.

However, the Gemis, Level 1 and 2 Crystles are nothing but pawns for the elite Level 3

Crystles. A Level 3 Crystle may look more like a knight in shiny armour but theyre deadlier

than they look intimidating. Able to use projectile-type weaponries, Level 3s could be

described as adult Crystles as they completely lost any human feature, hiding their bodies

underneath an impenetrable armour. However, the Level 3s seemed to be obeying orders

from an unknown benefactor, suggesting the existence if a Level 4.

If so, do they have a weakness?

Yes, the Gemis are considered henchmen for a Crystle so it could be easy to defeatthem. A Crystle, no matter what Level they are, they possessed some sort of heart-light at

their chest. If they received a considerable amount of damage, their heart-light will start

flicking, prompting the Crystles to retreat. But destroy the heart-light, you destroy the

Crystle.

I see. I also notice that bracer of yours are quite unique. I never see such a thing

before. Did you build it? asked Charlotte as she pointed at the bracer at Nicholass left

wrist.

Its actually a family heirloom. It supposed to belong to my ancestor, Connor Jaegar,

who was a member of a disbanded guild hundreds of years ago. After his death, the bracer

is passed to his grandson, Eren Laberti. After his death, it passed into my family for centuries

before I was inherited with it. However, there is no longer someone who is able to repair it

just in case it broke. I remembered how my father always play with it every night,

explained Nicholas with a warm smile.

I see. Hows your father? asked Charlotte.

Dead.

Im sorry.

Its okay, it was an inevitable event. That night 140 years ago.

Dont tell me Before Charlotte could finish her line, Nicholas stopped her, his left eye

changed. It cant be! he shouted.

3From the front, passengers ran to the back. Behind them was the conductor, pieces of

his skin tore off, revealing him to be a Crystle. Beside him, several Gemis slaughtered some

of the passengers, leaving a scene of carnage at their wake. Some of the bodies turned into

Gemis and assisted their comrades in making more of their kind.

Immediately, Nicholas took Charlottes hand and rushed for the storage carriage. Inthere, the boy checked his bracer as he told Charlotte to stay put. Then, he returned into

the passenger carriage. In there was pure carnage. Bodies were littered everywhere,

staining the carriage with blood. However, there was no sign of neither the Crystle nor

Gemis. Hidden blade extended, Nicholas walked across the carriage. As he reached the

centre of the carriage, Gemis burst in all directions through the window. This caught him by

surprise as he tried to parry one of the Gemis attack with his hidden blade but the blow

broke it. Another Gemi attacked and Nicholas stabbed it with his sword but there wasnt any

time for him to withdraw it as the other Gemis attacked. This forced him to abandon it as he

dodged the other Gemis.

He checked his bag. The only thing left in his arsenal was a smoke bomb. Having no

choice, he threw it to the ground. As soon as it hit the ground, thick black smoke covered

the entire carriage. As the Gemis tried to search for the boy, Nicholas dashed towards the

storage carriage, pushing aside the Gemis in front of him. He quickly slammed the door and

pushed several cargoes to the door, blocking it. Its official, were screwed, he said.

Nicholas took out his left bracer and put it into his bag. With my only weapon broken and

abandoned, were defenceless against them, he continued as he took out a wristwatch

from his bag and wore it. Although it resembled a wristwatch, it looked more like a bracer.

Whats that? asked Charlotte.

Just a memento of my father. He spent many hours developing it. Ive no idea what it

does but he said it has countless potential to save humanity in any crisis. It used to compose

of two pieces. One of them is this watch here. The other one is currently missing.

DETECTED. Nicholas and Charlotte looked at the source of the voice, the watch he was

wearing. The watchs dial turned and shot put a beam of light at Nicholas bag. He took out

the thing the beam was aiming at: the parcel he was supposed to deliver. Curious, he

opened it, revealing it to be a box. Nicholas read the label. KryGear. This is before he

could continue his line, he opened the box, revealing its content to be a flip-phone. On one

side was a symbol of a shield with three pair of wings. For a moment Nicholas was

speechless. Then he spoke, Charl, when I give the signal, clear the cargoes and open the

door.

But thats suicidal, she replied.

Dont worry, Ill give you one-hundrno, one-hundred and ten percent guarantee that

well get through this, said Nicholas with a smile, followed by a wink.

Before that, answer my question. Who EXACTLY are you?

To be honest, Ive been wondering that for a long time. For now, Im just a wanderer,

remember that.

Smiling, Charlotte replied, Fine, at least help me clear the cargoes. You did pushed it

first to block the door. As she finished her sentence, she gave a wink at Nicholas.

Meanwhile, the sound of a ting was heard from the oven. The man put on his mitt and

took out its content. Using many foreign materials as ingredients, the content was gold in

colour. Music could be heard as he decorated it and sang along, Happy Birthday to you.

The Crystle and Gemis responded to the sound of a door opening from the storage

carriage. From there stood Nicholas, the KryGear in hand. He flipped open it and dialled the

code 000 at its numpad before pressing Enter. STANDING BY, announced the phone.

SystemEngage! Nicholas said as he closed the KryGear and inserted it into the watch.

Then, he raised his left arm to his left.

COMPLETE, announced the watch. A belt formed around Nicholas waist as crystal

slowly formed around his body starting from his left wrist. Soon, He was covered entirely incrystal. The Gemis took this chance to attack him. CYCLONE, READY, announced the watch

as the crystal formed into armour and with gust of wind circling his body, cast off from

Nicholas in pieces. Some of the pieces hit some of the Gemis, shattering them into pieces.

When the other Gemis revived, they found themselves no longer facing a mere boy but an

armoured warrior in green.

The music stopped once again as the man finished decorating his cake. Unlike his

previous creations, this one was gold in colour and seemed to be emitting an aura.

Surrounded by candles was a symbol of a shield with three pair of wings. The man scorned

as he announced what he had written on it.

Kryst. Soon, the music resumed as he continued singing. Happy Birthday to you!

Behind the door of the storage carriage, Charlotte witnessed Nicholas transformation.

equipped with a bladed gauntlet.

Not what Ive in mindbut itll have to do, he said as he used it to block one of the

Gemis attack. Kryst looked down at its chest and noticed that it still have his sword stuck on

it. Thank you for holding it for me, he said as he took its handle with his left hand.

Mustering his strength, he moved the sword upwards from chest to the top of its head,

slicing the Gemi into half. The Gemi shattered but its thick skull broke the sword.

Oh, bullocks, he grumbled as he kicked another Gemi in the shin. As it dropped to its

knee, he slashed across its chest with the Air Slicer. The Crystle looked on as its henchman

shattered. It growled as it ordered the Gemis to attack.

Come on, dont be shy and form a line. Theres plenty of punches for everyone, said

Kryst as he flipped open the KryGear. On the numpad, he dialled the code 4528 before

pressing Enter. HEAT, READY, announced the gear as crystal form around Krysts armour

once again. COMPLETE. With flames bursting out from within the armour, the crystal

shattered, revealing the red armoured Kryst Heat Form. HEAT TRIGGER, READY,

announced the KryGear as Kryst was equipped with a peculiar gun.

Looks like a good time for target practice, he said as he fired at the Gemis with shots

of concentrated heat. This manage to repel the Gemis as they backed away but Kryst

suffered from recoil as he slammed against the storage carriage door.

Okay, ouch. What ifI do this? he asked. Removing the barrel from the Heat Trigger,

Kryst pulled the trigger. Although the shots are not as concentrated as they shot from the

guns default mode, the rate of fire increased and he no longer suffered from a recoil. This

should suffice.

He continued firing until all the Gemis were backed down to the other end of the

carriage. Finale, he saidas he pressed Enter onthe KryGear. EXCEED CHARGE:

MAGMAM CONSUMES. With the announcement from the KryGear, Kryst reinserted the

barrel back into the Heat Trigger. As he aimed the group of Gemis, the Heat Trigger

absorbed the heat from its surroundings. Soon, the heat from the entire carriage was

absorbed into the gun, freezing it along with Gemis. Kryst could feel the sheer concentration

of heat from the gun as he pulled the trigger. A giant ball of flame was shot, incinerating

everything in sight, including the Gemis. The Gemis screeched as they were consumed by

the fireball. When it was extinguished, the entire carriage was nothing but ashes.

Entering the code 2925663and then Enter, Kryst transformed back into the green

Cyclone Form. He noticed that the Crystle was escaping through the window. Jumping

through there, he climbed onto the roof.

You lied to her, didnt you? Kryst turned to the source of the voice, another Crystle

beside the escaped one. However, it was different than the other. It had more armour on itsbody and could talk in his true form.

About what, Level 2? he asked the talking creature as he readied himself for an attack.

Dont play dumb with me, Fated One. You told her that the Crystles host is killed after

being taken over by his Inner Crystle.

She probably wont accept that the hosts soul will be trapped inside his ruined Heart

Maze even after being taken over by his Inner Crystle. Whats worse is that the host will

suffer until his body, which turned into a Crystles, is destroyed. Destroy you and Ill free his

soul.

The Crystle was too focused in his talk to notice that Kryst rushed towards it. With boy

and creature saw eye-to-eye, he gave it a punch at the face before retreating. The Crystle

took a step back due to the hit.

already aiding us in our conquest. In time, well take control of this world and the humans

will be nothing but zoo animals to us. Theyll have no choice but to submit to us, furfilling

our deepest, darkest desire, starting with that blond girl who was with you.

he charged towards the Crystle, Air Slicer equipped. He attacked but the Crystle dodged it.

He attacked again but the result was the same. The creature kicked him in the stomach and

he backed off a few steps. Reaching to his belt, Kryst picked out a crystal with a crescent

shaped symbol on it. ATTACK FUNCTION: CRESCENT announced the KryGear as the Air

Slicers blade was charged up with the element of wind.

Kryst swung his right arm to his side and the gauntlet blade produced a crescent-shaped

energy blade which sliced through the Crystles body before returning to the Air Slicer. Then

he slashed at the Crystle. The blow hit the creature as bluish blood flowed out from the

healing wound. The boy then punched at its chest, each blow concentrated with the power

of the wind. The attack was also so fast that the Crystle didnt have time to react. Soon, the

heart-light of the Crystle started to blink rapidly.

Impossible, how I could possibly be defeated by a monkey, a half-breed no less? asked

the retreating Crystle.

Why, you ask? Its because I made a promise to destroy all Crystles and release their

hosts souls. Ill bring them salvation. Now, its time for the finale, replied Kryst as he

pressed Enter. EXCEED CHARGE: CYCLONE KICK, announced the KryGear.

Gusts of wind encircled the bracer on Nicholas right leg. When the chains on the bracer

broke, it revealed a gold-coloured and bladed piece, the Hurricane Breaker. Then, a cyclone

blew around his body, slowly lifting him up into the air. Luckily for him, Cyclone Form had a

certain control over the element of air. As long as he locked on his target, he wouldnt be

affected by his own inertia and the train wont sped past him as he slowly rose into the sky.

When he thought the time was right, he extended his right leg as he dropped towards the

Crystle, delivering it a kick exceedingly charged with the element of wind.

The kick struck the Crystle at the chest. Kryst then used his left leg to jump himself from

it. As he had his back turned, there was an explosion. However, he felt something was not

right. There was no sign of the Level 1 Crystle. He turned back to the Crystle who emerged

from the flames from the explosion. Grasping at its throat, Kryst asked, Where is that Level

1?

Doing what it is ordered to do: Killing everyone inside that train. As we speak, it is

heading to the only place left uninspected, the storage carriage. As it spoke, the Crystle

laughed maniacally. Then, it shattered.

May your soul found salvation. Requeiscat in pace,Kryst said as he went back into the

train.

4Inside the storage carriage, Charlotte was hiding amidst the cargoes. She heard the door

slowly creak open and saw a figure walking in. Thinking that Nicholas may have perished in

his fight against the Gemis, she tried hard to fight back the tears. She wasnt a damsel in

distress waiting to be rescued by Prince Charming but a caged bird who escaped when the

cage broke. However, unlike the bird, she could fight back when threatened and that was

what she was going to do. Im neither going to be turned or to be killed without a fight,

Charlotte thought as she picked up a long pole from the floor.

When the figure turned against her, Charlotte slowly crept towards it. When she almostfelt like she was breathing at the figures back, she struck it with the pole. Charlotte didnt

realized the entire situation until it was too late as the blow hit the figures head. A loud

bang was heard and she dropped the pole, her hands covering her mouth. In front of her

and rubbing his head in pain, was Nicholas as the green armoured Kryst Cyclone Form. That

hurts, you know, said the boy.

Sorry, are you okay? asked Charlotte.

Its fine. To be honest, I dont feel a thing with this armour on. Good news and bad

news, which one do you want to know first?

You know the answer to that.

Ok. Good news is that I defeated every Gemi and a Level 2 Crystle in the train. Bad

news is that theres still a Level 1 Crystle somewhere.

As soon as Kryst finished his line, something burst out from the door. He tried to stop it

but was too slow as the thing plunged its claws into Charlottes chest directly into her heart.

Enraged, he pressed ENTER on the KryGear.

EXCEED CHARGE. Before the device was able to fully announce the name of the killing

blow, Kryst ran towards the Crystle, gust of wind gathering at his palm. As the Crystle

withdrew its claws, he punched the monster through the chest, shattering it. Undoing his

transformation, Nicholas managed to catch a falling Charlotte before she hit the ground

head-first.

As he feared, she was starting to turn into a Gemi as crystal started to cover her body

like a cocoon. Nicholas searched around his gears, hoping to find a way to undo a

transformation but all he could find was a powerless crystal. Helpless, all he could do was

look at his friends demise. Then, something grabbed his arm. He looked down and saw

Charlotte holding his arm. I guess this happens when someones Heart Maze is beingdestroyed by his Inner Crystle, huh? she asked with a weak smile.

stopped by his thoughts. Safely putting Charlottes body to the ground, he could feel tears

welling up in his eyes. Please, dont make me kill her. Dont make mehe thought. Im

sorry, Charl. Theres no way to undo the transformation. II have to kill you before the

transformation is complete. I should have tell you this butthe host doesnt die after being

taken over by his Inner Crystle. His soul will be trapped inside a ruined Heart Maze as he

sees the chaos caused by the newly born Crystles using his body. The Crystles also feed on

may be a burden to you, to kill a Crystle while its host is still conscious. Thats why I swore to

destroy the Crystles, so the hosts souls could be freed and no more people will suffer the

that night 140 years ago.

He was on an island with a small community. The people there were nice and seemed to

be always happy. Then, something happened. When he next woke up, he saw houses in

blazes and corpses surrounded him. Some were mutilated that he couldnt recognize whose

body it belonged to. Then, he lose it as he screamed at the top of his lungs. When he

regained his senses, he found himself pointing a gun at a man in spectacles. His body was

slightly covered in crystal. Then, as if he lose control of his body, he pulled the trigger.

DAMN IT DAMN IT DAMN IT!!!! Nicholas stopped as he lift up his arm, greenish blood

flowing from it but it started to regenerate afterwards. No, this isnt the time to scream

your regret. I got to save Charl,he thought. However, what could he have done? So far,

theres no way to destroy an Inner Crystle without destroying its host, what could he do

other than ending her life? Feeling useless, he kneel down, tears flowing from his eyes.

Some of the teardrops hit the crystal he dropped onto the ground moments ago and it

glowed radiantly.

Picking up the crystal, Nicholas noticed that it have the symbol of a heart. What ifno,

thisll work, he said. Transforming into Kryst Cyclone Form, he inserted the new crystal into

the KryGear. SPIRIT, ENGAGE, it announced. He closed his eyes as his body turned

transparent and entered Charlottes body.

When he opened his eyes, Nicholas found himself no longer inside the train but inside a

white maze, surrounded by mirrors, some were shattered. He then looked down. He was

still Kryst but no longer in Cyclone Form. The warrior found himself wearing a white armour

with a strange wristwatch-like gauntlet replaced the KryGear. However, that wasnt

important. What was important was that he had one last chance to save Charlotte. With

that in mind, he continued walking into the heart of the Heart Maze. On his way, he noticed

that some of the mirrors were still intact. The mirrors contained her memories as he could

see Charlotte reading inside the church. Other than that, he saw her reading and studying

maps, meeting Houki, one of the choir members. And then, near the heart of the maze, the

moment he saved her from the Gemis and her final words to him. I wont allow her to be

turned. If Ive to, Ill be her final hopehe thought.

Soon, Kryst reached the heart of the Heart Maze. There, he saw a spectral version of

Charlotte, caged inside some form of orb. Before he could reached her, Kryst was stopped

by the appearance of a Crystle, Charlottes Inner Crystle.

Man, its quite a drag to trap such a cute girl inside that thing, she did put up a good

fight though, said the creature as he continued, Still, whats a bigger drag is how I couldnt

even speak until I matured into a Level 2 Crystle. Oh well, for the king, I guess. Why dont

you go back and mourn as your friend turned into a Crystle? I promise Ill take good care of

her body as soon as I take over.

The Crystle then walked towards one of the mirrors, containing one of Charlottes

memories. As soon as it touched it, the mirror shattered. Kryst could hear a loud scream

from the spectral Charlotte. Charl! he screamed.

Sorry mate, she couldnt hear and see you inside the Heart Maze. All she could see is

me and me destroying her Heart Maze, forever trapping her in there. Just a few more and

Ill take over unless you destroy me.

Kryst typed in the code to transform into Heat Form but he remembered that the

KryGear was no longer with him. Instead, a wristwatch-like gauntlet replaced it. He didnt

have the time to think as the Crystle slashed at him. The monster slashed again but the

warrior dodged it again. However, he failed to anticipate a third attack as the Crystles arm

penetrated through his armour, straight into his chest.

I wonder how it feels having your heart ripped out? asked the Crystle as it dug its arm

deeper into his chest. Greenish blood leaked out from the broken armour as Kryst resisted

the pain. Soon, the monsters smirk turned into a surprised frown. That blood, plus that

your heart is nowhere to be found. What are you? it asked.

Im just a wanderer, remember that, Kryst said.

Enraged, the Crystle threw him off, shattering another mirror in the process. In pain, the

spectral Charlotte screamed. Charl!! Kryst yelled as he steadied himself, enduring the

regenerating wound on his chest. He noticed that tears were streaming on her cheeks as she

murmured a name, Nic

Clenching his fist, Kryst ran towards the Crystle and managed to land a blow on it before

it could shatter another mirror. As the monster was stunned, he turned the dial on the

wristwatch-like device. SPIRIT TIMER, COUNT DOWN it announced as it started to move

around the four quarters of the timer. When the counter reached the green quarter, it

announced, HURRICANE, SET UP. Kryst ran towards the Crystle with tremendous speed

and started to kick it repeatedly, each kick beginning to be concentrated with the power of

wind. The final kick sent him into the air. There, the counter reached the red quarter.

FLAME, SET UP, announced the Spirit Timer. Kryst was soon covered in flames as he

descended to the ground, delivering the Crystle a fiery punch. It tried to attack him but its

attacks were countered by more punches full of concentrated heat. Unable to bear the heat,

the monster fell to its knees.

How about something to cool off, eh? asked Kryst as the counter reached the blue

quarter. WATER, SET UP, announced the Spirit Timer. Producing water whips at both of his

hands, he whipped the Crystle with the element of water. Having enough, the monster fired

balls of energy at him. As the attack was going to hit him, Kryst only made out a clap. Then,an explosion was heard. The Crystle smirked as it tried to confirm the demise of its foe but

Kryst was kneeling there, both hands on the ground. In front of him was a wall made from

the ground which blocked the earlier attacks. GROUND, SET UP, announced the Spirit

Timer, indicating that the counter had reached the brown quarter. The Crystle attacked

again but all of them were blocked by walls of earth. Just when the monster was getting

tired, the counter of the Spirit Timer reached the green quarter again.

OVERTIME, it announced. At the same time, Kryst hit the dial on the timer, initializingthe killing blow. SET UP, ELEMENT CHARGE BREAKER, HURRICANE, FLAME, WATER,

GROUND, announced the timer. Slowly, Kryst rose into the air. Then, four orbs flew around

him, each representing an element. Before the Crystle could notice, the orbs fire bolts of

energy at it, stunning it. Almost immediately, Kryst dropped towards the monster, delivering

it a mighty kick filled with the power of the four elements. Once he landed safely on the

ground, he said, Im the spirit of the heart. To protect and to heal. May your soul find

salvation. Requeiscat in pace. As he finished his line, the Crystle shattered.

Kryst turned back, noticing that the destroyed mirrors were slowly being restored to

normal. The orb shattered, freeing the spectral Charlotte. As harmonic music could be

heard, angelic wings sprouted out from her back as she ascended into the air. She was

smiling, the same smile that she gave him when they first met. Kryst was amazed at the

sight of beauty as a flash of light consumed him.

5Slowly, the boy opened his eyes. He found himself no longer the warrior known as Kryst,

but back being the boy by the name of Nicholas Emewalts. The first thing he saw afterwaking up was Charlottes face. She was no longer covered in crystal, indicating that Kryst

had successfully rescued her from being eternally imprisoned in her ruined Heart Maze. The

girl was smiling warmly like the warm beams from the Sun. Along with her, he also found

himself back inside the train, still heading towards Parliament. The boy tried to move but he

Smiling, Nicholas slowly closed his eyes once more. I hate to repeat myself but shes
