The arrival of spring brings more daylight,

so we can enjoy the energy that is no

longer needed to fight off drowsiness.

Increased sunlight also triggers the release of serotonin, a

brain chemical that helps us feel happier. Warmer

temperatures mean we’re more likely to be active and social,

which releases endorphin, the hormone that minimises pain

and boosts mood. Be sure to share a few laughs with friends,

it's great for your health! Happy March!

We made some tasty treats for our backyard friends in this frigid

weather. Many of the natural seed sources that birds prefer flower

in summer. Winter’s a tough time to find naturally-occurring

food. Food types are limited, and birds need the extra

calories. Predators are extra hungry, too. When food’s hard for our

feathered friends to find, it’s harder for squirrels, mice & raccoons.

Help protect birds by placing food sources near natural coverage to

keep birds fed while offering a place to hide. The best foods for

backyard birds during this tough time have high fat and oil content

like: black oil sunflower, peanuts, suet mixes with fruit or seeds,

peanut butter and nutritious seed mixes all make for happy bellies!
