Why PDHPE is important in schools
Encouraging Healthy Living
Children learn about:› Healthy food and nutrition.› Participate in regular activity.› Share ideas, emotions and concerns about a
range of different topics which relieves stress and anxiety.
› Healthy living is taught and is carried on throughout adult life.
Staying Active
Children through PE are able to:› Participate in regular exercise with a range
of games and activities.› Through games children learn about their
bodies.› Children are able to develop new skills and
build on old ones.› Promotes an active lifestyle which releases
stress and makes them feel better.› Essential for Growth and Development.
Building Relationships
Children learn:› How to communicate with their peers.› Share feelings and emotions.› Build relationships and understanding and
knowing the importance of them.› Resolving problems.› Learning to care about relationships and
maintaining them.
I think that it is crucial for PDHPE to be taught in schools as it allows children to have an overall balanced wellbeing while also encouraging learning and engagement through interaction and activities.
