Your brain is amazingly complex
No one knows how the brain “learns” exactly.

Some learning is stored electrically … and some is stored chemically.
Four main styles your brain can use to learn, and some ways you can mix these styles

• shape, color, light, movement, position, or focus • location on a page or in a drawer• remember faces better than names• skits• take notes so their eyes can see the ideas formed on paper
“I see what you mean.” Expressions that emphasize visual aspectsRather draw pictures or doodle rather than take notes. Write it in mirror (true backwards)
Bring a pad of blank paper, some drawing pens or colored pencils, or whatever else you need…
VISUAL LEARNERS:VISUAL LEARNERS:

• sound, tone, pitch, cadence, direction, tonality, frequency…• the sound of a person’s voice, learn easily through song or music• like to mimic people, animals, or instruments• often hum or make seemingly random sounds • take notes and read the words (mentally or audibly)
“I hear you” Might vocalize constantly Expressions that emphasize audible aspects, onomonopoeaMay repeat what you just saidMurmur softly to themselves Often read out loud to themselves
Bring a small recording device… some music score sheets… murmur quietly to yourself, or sit with other auditory learners.

• Hands-on people• Do not like to read directions or be told what to do• Assemble and destroy by trial-and-error • Use their bodies and all of their parts to learn • Take notes so their fingers have processed the words
“I get it now,” or “I have a handle on it.” Constantly move and fidget, tap, drum, bounce, get up, walk around…May seem like they are just not listening
Sit on the outside edge of seats or in the back row, so you can get up, walk around, move, fidget, or otherwise practice an idea physically, without disturbing others. Bring stuff you can build or play with while learning.

Therefore, C cannot be true.

Bring your technology and use it continuously. White board and markersFind patterns in everything presented Use rulers and draw logic boxes

• Focus on details • Count everything• Know exactly how many steps it takes • The letters function like numbers, and the concepts can be calculated mathematically.
Readily adapt to new technologies and devices Think like a machine “The way I figure it…” or “By my calculations…” Highly organized, rarely lose files in their computers

We have presented these four main learning styles:• Visual• Auditory• Tactile/Kinesthetic• Mathematical/Logical
You might use only one, but that is unlikely. You can practice other learning
styles…like skills in a sport
I want to teach you one technique by which you can remember just about everything presented in this seminar… Really. This works.
You can learn patience and tolerance of other styles.

Let’s cover the ten senses of perception, and two important facts about them.
1. VISUAL Eyes Light, color, brightness, shape, spatial relationships, focus, movement…
2. AUDITORY Ears Sound, tone, volume, pitch, cadence, direction, timing…
4. GUSTATORY Tongue Taste, five different flavors, freshness, toxicity, chemical composition…
5. TACTILE Skin Texture, pressure, temperature, location, pain…
SENSE ORGAN PERCEIVES

6. VESTIBULAR Inner ear Balance, orientation, direction, spin, inertia…
7. PROPRIOCEPTIVE Skeleton Position, space, movement, resistance, mass/density…
8. MEMORY Brain Experience, learning, concrete/abstract, meaning, skills, conscious thoughts, instinctual drives…
9. CREATIVITY Mind Imagination, new constructs, future projection, analysis, intuition…
10. PSYCHE Soul Spiritual realm, psychic phenomena, metaphysical reality, bonding…
Two important facts about these senses will help you immensely.
SENSE ORGAN PERCEIVES
HYPO-SENSITIVE, using a prefix from a Greek word meaning “under.”

FACT #1: Every human being does not have the full optimal use of all ten senses of perception
Newborn babies… Older people…
The ways YOU perceive the world WILL NOT be exactly how anyone else will perceive the same world.
HYPER-SENSITIVE, using another preposition from Greek meaning “above.”
• a balloon being popped • just a surprise, and later laughed. • saw a bright flash out the window • a lightning strike near by, and was very anxious• auditory processing problems• after the other two in response to them

FACT #2: All ten senses of perception are INTERACTIVE and INTERDEPENDENT
The one who didn’t jump or have any reaction knew his neighbor was sighting in his shotgun…

You might have a fabulous memory…
You might be normal.
A great deal of information…
“The Memory Mansion”
The home in which you grew up…
Physical presence in a location

Imagine “Your Memory Mansion.”
In the mailbox: an ACCEPTANCE letter
In the door: a camera with 36 EXPOSURE film
The light switch: EMPOWERMENT for the lights
In your refrigerator: a DEPLETED container
In the other room: a CELEBRATION for you
© 2012 Dr. Myke Merrill Resources / SGM Co. ARR
Let’s review…
Start at the road. Go to the mailbox first. A letter for you.
Step inside the door. A film camera with 36 what?
The lights need what?
What’s in the refrigerator?
The next room with friends and family…
Review these five key words in Your Memory Mansion several times
