There’s a problem today with TRUST.BROKEN TRUST.

You see it happen often... People put TRUST in each other. And then the trust gets broken. And then sometimes people can find it

hard to ever trust again.

There’s a PROBLEM with TRUST... WHAT can you trust? WHO can you trust? WHAT is TRUTH?

WHO can you BELIEVE IN?

Trust is based on Truth.

WE NEED TRUTH

We need truth. Where can truth be found? Who can I trust? What can I trust?

Pilate asked the Lord Jesus, What is truth?John 18:38.

Sadly, people these days have FALLEN FOR A LIE.

They have exchanged the truth for a lie.

Just like God said they would. He tells us of those, in...

Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

People have fallen for the lie of evolution.They’ve made monkeys of themselves.

They’ve swallowed Darwin’s book, hook, line and sinker. Yet they mock the truth of the Bible.

People are losing a grip on the truth in this generation. They are exchanging the truth for a substitute, a lie, a counterfeit.

And then sadly many multiply their error as they then sow the seeds of doubt to others...

It is important to know...WHO CAN YOU TRUST?

When we find Jesus WE FIND THE TRUTH.

YOU CAN TRUST GOD.

We have a document that has stood the test of time, and stands as strong and sure as ever. The Bible. The Word of God.

We see THE AUTHORITY OF THE BIBLE is under constant assault these days.

Some would allege that the Bible contradicts itself, or argue about its ethics, or claim it contradicts modern science somehow.

Yet all such claims can be readily discounted.Such arguments do not stack up.

There’s an evident attitude within all men, of anti-authoritarianism.

But there is an authority that remains.

The Scriptures teach that God cannot lie

If, then, the Bible is from God and his character is behind it, it must be inerrant and infallible.

So, YOU CAN TRUST GOD, And...

YOU CAN TRUST HIS WORD.

The ultimate transmission of truth is the Bible.

It is important, in these days of doubt, to be assured of THE TRUTHFULNESS OF THE BIBLE.

Psalms 119:160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

The Bible is THE TRUE WORDS OF GOD, given to men.

Fulfilled prophecy is a proof of the Bible.

Someone who disbelieves the Bible would need to explain away the fulfilled prophecies of the Bible...

There are hundreds of fulfilled prophecies.

Just consider, Psalm 22:16: ‘They pierced My hands and My feet’.

This was written over a 1000 years before Jesus died on the cross, where they pierced His hands and His feet with nails. This was written even before the form of death called crucifixion was even invented.

Christians believe God is the ultimate author of the Bible – and this is supported by the predictive prophecies in the Bible.

This is unique to the world's religions.

If you predict something will happen and it does not, you are shown to be false.

The Bible is literally filled with detailed prophecies that have been fulfilled with 100% accuracy.

God has done in the Bible something no other holy book has ever dared to do.

He has based the Bible’s credibility upon His ability to tell the future with one hundred percent accuracy.

The Reformation declared that the ultimate authority rested not in reason or a pope, but in an inspired Scripture.

The Lord Jesus said that heaven and earth will pass away before the smallest detail of the law fails to be fulfilled. The authority of the Bible rests on the fact that every minute detail will be fulfilled.



Its AUTHORITY.

The Bible has unique claims as AUTHORITATIVE.

We have a truly reliable Source of Authority.

The writer to the Hebrews spoke of the absolute authority of this book when he wrote:

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Is there any other book that can make such a claim?

This solitary book has erected empires and cast others down. Those who have wholly followed its precepts have been blessed; while those who have rejected it have been cursed.

Throughout history it has been burned, banned, ridiculed, distorted, abused and outlawed; but never destroyed and it can never be ignored!

It’s simply too powerful for that.

It’s AUTHORITATIVE!

Psalm 19 speaks of the AUTHORITY and POWER of this Word.

Psalms 19:7-9 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

(8) The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

(9) The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

It is perfect, sure, right, pure, clean, and true.

It converts the soul, makes simple people wise, causes the heart to rejoice, enlightens the eyes, endures forever, and produces righteousness.

The Bible is PERFECT. The Bible says in Psalm 19:7 – The law of the LORD is PERFECT, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is SURE, making wise the simple.

Nothing can be added. Nothing can be taken away from it.

Do you want to know about God? Then go to this book. This testimony is SURE. It’s reliable, trustworthy; something you can be certain of.

It makes simple people wise. It opens the door to understanding and shows us how to live.

Verse 8 says, The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart…

These statutes, precepts and principles for life shape our value system. They are “right.” They put us on the “right path.” Verse 8 tells us, The commandment of the Lord is PURE, enlightening the eyes.

God’s word is... Sure Pure Perfect

God’s commandments are PURE and CLEAR.

Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is PURE: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Psalm 119:140 says, Thy Word is VERY PURE,

As a preacher has said, “It is truth distilled... In the Word of God there is no admixture of error or sin. It is pure in its sense, pure in its language, pure in its spirit, pure in its influence, and all this to the very highest degree―“very pure.”” (Spurgeon).

Verse 9 goes on to say, The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever…

The Bible produces faith, and at times, it produces a healthy fear.

What keeps you from trying to walk across a freeway during rush hour? A healthy fear!

The Psalmist says that this kind of fear is “clean.” It doesn’t stain, it doesn’t spot, and it doesn’t leave a blemish.

It can be totally trusted and it endures forever!

Verse 9, The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

God is the judge of all the earth and this book tells of His judgments. His judgments are absolute truth.

Many people don’t even know what truth is anymore.

Many are aimlessly wandering around, trying to figure out what truth is.

Because of the Bible I can tell you about the truth.

The truth about time and eternity; the truth about the origin of the world and how it’s going to end; the truth about morality, life, love, relationships, marriage, etc.

I believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God. It’s the only thing that can totally transform the inner man.

Proverbs 19:10, More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

I believe the Bible teaches the preservation of every word of the Inspired Scripture.

GOD’S WORD CANNOT BE BROKEN.

In John 10:34 - 35 our Lord says that,

“…The Scripture cannot be broken” (John 10:35)

The Lord Jesus says, Matthew 24:35: "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."

God’s Word is PURE and SURE FOREVER, and YOU CAN TRUST IT, with your life, for eternity.

The Bible is ABSOLUTELY authoritative. There is NO LIMITATION to its authority.

This authority is NECESSARY – we have no authority without the Bible.

This authority is SUFFICIENT - we need no other authority beside the Bible.

This authority is UNIQUE – there is no other such authority.

The Word of God is the only Food for the Soul. The Bible is the only pure and true and infallible Word from God.

Deuteronomy 8:3 …man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

The Bible is the food for our soul.

The Bible is... Abiding Sure Trustworthy

Some people suggest that the Bible is in error or inaccurate on some points. But such claims do not stand the test.

God's word is truth.

John 17:17; Psalms 119:128; 33:4.

It is always right and can never be wrong. And truth will never contradict other truth.

If people disagree with the Bible, then it is the people who are wrong, not the Bible.

Romans 3:4 ...let God be true, but every man a liar...Satan is still using the same tactics he used in the Garden of Eden.

He asked Eve, 'Did God really say that?" (Genesis 3:1).

He knew that if he could get her to question the authority of God's Word, sin would follow.

Satan is still trying to mislead people to reject the Bible's teaching, and to reject the Bible's message about morality and truth.


Its INDESTRUCTIBILITY

God’s Word has been accurately preserved and transmitted to us over the centuries... When we consider that "...the Bible has been the special object of never ending persecution the wonder of the Bible's survival is changed into a miracle.

For two thousand years man's hatred of the “Bible has been PERSISTENT, DETERMINED, RELENTLESS, AND MURDEROUS. Every possible effort has been made to UNDERMINE FAITH IN THE INSPIRATION AND AUTHORITY of the Bible...

“Imperial edicts have been issued to the effect that every know copy of the Bible should be destroyed, and when this measure failed to exterminate and annihilate God's Word then commands were given that every person found with a copy of the Scriptures in his possession should be put to death.

“The very fact that the Bible has been so singled out for such relentless persecution

Its TRANSFORMING ABILITY

Billions of lives have been changed and transformed by the living Word of God.

We see the evident transforming power of the Lord Jesus Christ as He penetrates hearts and in the testimonies of countless changed lives.

Western civilization is founded upon the Bible; all our ideas, our wisdom, our philosophy, our literature, our art, our ideals come more from the Bible than all other books put together. (William Lyon Phelps)

One example of how the Bible can change lives is seen in the true story of Mutiny on the Bounty.

This event is an amazing testimonial to what the Bible can do. In 1888, a group of English sailors who had spent six months on a South Sea island decided to remain. They mutinied against their captain and set him adrift in an open boat. A punitive expedition from England captured 14 of the mutineers and transferred

nine of them to another island, where they formed a new colony.

The Encyclopedia Britannica tells us that these people degenerated so rapidly and became so fierce that life there turned into a hell on earth. Having learned to distill whiskey from a native plant, they soon were involved in quarrels, drunken orgies, and violence. Finally all the men except Alexander Smith were dead, and he was left alone with a group of native women and half breed children. Then a wonderful thing happened. Finding a Bible in an old sea chest, Smith read it and believed it. He gathered the women and children around him and taught them the Word of God.

Twenty years later, an American ship visited the island and found a Christian community. There was no disease, no crime, no insanity, no illiteracy, and no strong drink.

The moral standards of the people were so high that no law enforcement agency was necessary. The island seemed to be a small paradise. What had brought about this astounding transformation? Just reading the

Bible, believing it, and putting it into practice!!!

People who do not believe that the Bible is supernatural need to try and explain away hundreds of fulfilled prophecies, and the billions of lives that have been changed through the message of the Bible.
