Who are we ? Under the leadership of Nobel Peace Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, we leverage the power of social business in and through sports to solve pressing challenges that face our society today. As pioneers of the social business movement, Yunus Sports Hub operates as a global collective of interdisciplinary experts. Coming from diverse industries leveraging sport and social business, we are united to solve human challenges through the combined power of sport and social business. Our team is operational for projects in any region, sport and major national language. Yunus Sports Hub is a brand within the Grameen Creative Lab, the first social business action tank, community organizer and event leader. It was co-founded by Professor Yunus and Hans Reitz 20 years ago. It is headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany.

Founded in 2018 by Nobel Peace Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, Grameen Creative Lab CEO Hans Reitz, and Yoan Noguier, Yunus Sports Hub is a response to the growing demand of consumers for socially and environmentally responsible businesses.
We believe in the power of athletes and the sport industry to drive society towards responsible consumption, production, and behaviors in relationship to our people and planet. We are committed to fostering a sport world of three zeros to achieve a world of three zeros: zero poverty, zero unemployment, zero net-carbon emissions.

What is social business? A social business, as defined by Prof. Yunus, is a sustainable business whose purpose is to help solve a social or environmental problem. Like any other business, it generates a profit through exchange of products and services. However, in a social business, investors & shareholders do not take dividends. The purpose of the investment is purely to achieve one or more social objectives; no personal gain is sought by investors, much like charitable giving. More attractive than charitable giving, though, is that investors can gradually recuperate money invested - the revenue generated from the social business’ commercial activity regenerates original investments. The outcomes of the business’ activities on social &/or environmental challenges - rather than the amount of profit made in a given period - measures the success of social business.

They have an exciting life ahead of them: they can become successful entrepreneurs for themselves, they can also create a social business and help to solve the people’s problems. This is yet another chance for them to catch the attention of the entire world.” Pr. Yunus On october 6th 2018 during the Olympism in Action Forum in Buenos Aires (Argentina), Professor Muhammad Yunus signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the IOC. Together, they aim at helping athletes and Olympians with dual career and professional transition opportunities towards entrepreneurship and social business. The partnership agreement coincides with their shared vision that skills and values acquired during a sports career are extremely valuable and compatible with social business. The concept of the first programme supported by the agreement forms the “Athlete 365 Career+” and will provide opportunities to athletes through three steps : Engagement, Incubation and Acceleration. It has already reached more than 35,000 athletes from more than 185 countries, and will continue to grow its impact. Yunus Sports Hub, Centre Yunus, Les Canaux & Paris 2024 - Impact 2024 “Paris 2024 is at the crossroads of sports and social work. This step is crucial for young people who expect a lot from the Games, it is our responsibility not to deceive them”. Pr. Yunus In partnership with Paris 2024, the company for the delivery of the Games infrastructures (SOLIDEO), Les Canaux and Centre Yunus Paris, Yunus Sports Hub participates to the Impact 2024 platform in order to ensure the social inclusiveness and environmental sustainability of the Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games together with its impact on territorial development. The platform aims at informing, animating and accompanying the social economy actors for them to be at the heart of the Games. The parties agreed on several objectives for the Paris 2024 Games. Firstly, making sure that out of the 250 000 jobs that could be created by the Games, 10% will be generated within enterprises providing jobs for the unemployed (insertion companies). Secondly, 25% of the turnover related to the Games should be made by local, small or social businesses. More
