Whitehorse Carols

Santa Claus is coming to town and so are a host of wonderful performers including world class theatre trio Melissa Langton, Chelsea Plumley and Alex Rathgeber. Hosted by popular children’s act The Workers, with performances from the Box Hill City Band, children’s entertainers the Zucchini Clan, the Combined Churches of Blackburn North and special guests from Bradshaw Music Productions. Santa and his elves will be available from 4.30pm for photos before he is whisked away on his around the world sleigh trip.

‘We Will Rock You’ with a night guaranteed to blow your mind! Amazing tribute show The Killer Queen Experience will be headlining this year’s Australia Day concert with support from Aussie classic fuelled quartet ‘Australian Made’, the energetic ‘Like This!’, and lovable MC Wendy Stapleton. This stunning night of entertainment will go out with a bang in a stunning 10 minute fireworks finale. The fun begins at 5pm with a range of free rides for all ages and a huge variety of gourmet food, coffee and beverage stalls open for the evening.

Forget about Joe Hockey and the ‘budget deficit’ for a minute... is Australia suffering a leadership deficit? There was a time when politicians could inspire us. But were they really better than the current crop or has our perception benefited from the passage of time?

Junior PerformanceNow in their 55th year, Utassy presents the feature ballet ‘Cobblers and the Elves’ for the annual Junior Performance. This engaging ballet was last performed in 2010, as part of their 50th Anniversary at The Playhouse - Arts Centre Melbourne. The programme will also include excerpts from La Boheme, Spanish Suite and contemporary dance.

Spencer Tracy stars in the title role with beautiful performances by Elizabeth Taylor and Joan Bennett.

The Glass SoldierNelson Ferguson, a young artist from Ballarat, became a stretcher bearer in WW1. In 1918 Ferguson’s eyes and lungs were damaged at Villers Bretonneux. He returned from war and went on to make a significant contribution to society. In 1968, by the miracle of science, his eyesight was restored. The Glass Soldier, narrated by Derek Guille and combined with a world class brass ensemble and

percussionists including the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and outstanding vocalists, will stir your soul.

GreaseRydell High’s senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding ‘Burger Palace’ boys and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking ‘pink ladies’ in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoke the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. Head ‘greaser’ Danny and new (good) girl Sandy attempt to relive the high romance of their ‘Summer Nights’ as the rest of the gang sing and dance their way

through songs such as Greased Lightnin’, It’s Raining On Prom Night and Alone At The Drive-in Movie; music that became the soundtrack of a generation.

Amazing tribute show The Killer Queen Experience will be headlining this year’s Australia Day concert with support from Aussie classic fuelled quartet ‘Australian Made’, the energetic ‘Like This!’, and lovable MC Wendy Stapleton. This stunning night of entertainment will go out with a bang in a stunning 10 minute fireworks finale. The fun begins at 5pm with a range of free rides for all ages and a huge variety of gourmet food, coffee and beverage stalls open for the evening.

Santa Claus is coming to town and so are a host of wonderful performers including world class theatre trio Melissa Langton, Chelsea Plumley and Alex Rathgeber. Hosted by popular children’s act The Workers, with performances from the Box Hill City Band, children’s entertainers the Zucchini Clan, the Combined Churches of Blackburn North and special guests from Bradshaw Music Productions. Santa and his elves will be available from 4.30pm for photos before he is whisked away on his around the world sleigh trip.
