Size

Diet- Mainly fruits but also eats seeds, leaves, and sometimes dead wood.

Size- Weight ranges from 5.9 to 10.4 kg. body length that ranges from 42 to 50 cm

Housing

They live in the upper canopy of the rainforest and can be found to up to 1,800 m. high in the trees!

Climate Needed

• These spider monkeys require large tracts of moist evergreen forests, and prefer undisturbed primary rainforest.

Reproduction

Reproduction: Every 2 to 4 years and usually 1 offspring

Gestation: 210 to 225 days or about 7 months

Endangered

The two main reasons for the reduction of the species is from hunting and chopping down trees, destroying their homes

The White Bellied Spider Monkey was put on endangered list in 1985.

Population of the White-Bellied Spider Monkey has decreased 30% in the past 3 generations.
