Mentoring Mentors Annual Report 2020
Where Learning & Loving Relationships Happen
About UsMentoring Mentors, Inc. (Mentoring Mentors) is a Baltimore based 501(c)(3) mentorship non-profit organization established in 2014 to promote community interdependency and long term relationships for urban African-American youth/adolescents ages 11-18. At our core, Mentoring Mentors is an organization that celebrates interdependency and teaches commitment to the community.
MissionMentoring Mentors’ mission is to enhance academic achievement, inspire confidence, and expose youth to positive mentoring experiences that transform the trajectory of their future.
VisionMentoring Mentors envisions a community in which youth regardless of background, geographical location, economic or social status, are valued by a caring, loving, and engaging support system that includes adults, youth, and younger peers.
Theory Of Change
Intergenerational near-to-peer mentoringMentoring Mentors’ intergenerational near-to-peer mentoring design is a proprietary model that Mentoring Mentors developed in 2015.
The model addresses the overwhelming need to refute stereotypes about African Americans, particularly men in urban communities. Its premise is that early intervention mentoring that teaches empathy and community and engages African American youth in their own development and the development of their younger counterparts that lead to more effective outcomes.
Theory Of Change

● Once a youth completes middle school, he/she is officially recognized as a (mentor-apprentice), a high school student, that meets all organization requirements.
● Upon completion of high school or once the youth becomes age 18 and meets the organization's requirements, he/she moves into (mentor status.)
