Earth Day! Our E.C.O Team, which

will help organize the daily events. The

E.C.O Team and entire school will par-

ticipate in varying activities with respect

to the environment, conservation and

promotion of Earth Day as a constant

lifestyle. It will be a great day for

focusing on how we can all do our part

towards revitalizing and respecting the

Earth.

We will be hosting our annual Spring Book Fair

from April 19th - 21st. There will be a number of

books, posters and other goodies to choose from.

Please let the school know as early as

possible if you will be moving and your

child will not be attending Edgehill

School starting this September. We

appreciate having all this information

early as it helps us to set up classes for

next year. Thank you!

Once again, LaFarge (Texada Quarry) is

running a battery recycling contest.

Last, year, district wide, we saved

28,746 batteries from the landfill and we hope to

push that total this year, with all the children’s help!

Several classes are collecting batteries from now

through to Earth Day (April 22nd)!

Bring in those batteries!

A special thank you to Kerri Carlson who spent countless hours organizing the Jinga Kids and Wellness event! We couldn’t have done it without her and all of our fantastic volunteers.

Jinga Kids Wellness Day was a great success here at Edgehill. Students rotated

through a series of events that included everything from Art to Zumba and even

gained some Bollywood Dance moves! A huge thank you to all our adult and high school

student volunteers that helped make the day so much fun for everyone. The event

was planned and organized by Kerri Carlson who deserves a huge thank you as well.

Special thanks to SD #47, Tempco and C.D.P.R. for their support of this awesome

event! Thanks to all of our PAC members who came out and prepared smoothies for all

of the students to enjoy. On March 11th, Edgehill students and staff enjoyed Twins

Day!

The entry forms have been handed out and now the practicing begins. We are

excited to be holding our annual Talent Show here at Edgehill. Our students

have amazing talents and we always enjoy when they get the opportunity to

share them with us. This year, we have

tentatively set the date for Friday, April

29th in the afternoon.

Please watch for more information

coming home with your child in the

near future. Keep practicing your skills

everyone!

KINDERGARTEN PALS

April 12th 9:00 - 10:00 am

PALS helps family members or caregivers support their kindergarten aged children's early literacy and

numeracy development. PALS offers two sessions for parents each school year in each of the school

district's elementary schools. The focus is on Literacy in the Fall and Numeracy in the Spring. Each session

provides time for parents, teachers and a facilitator to talk together about kindergarten children's learning at

this early stage in their development. There is also an opportunity for parents to join in activities with their

children and to take home a bag of materials for children to continue their learning at home.

Spring Cross Country

Spring has sprung and cross country runs begin this week. Interested students in Grades

3 - 7 can meet with Mr. McMaster to practice their running. Encourage your children to

listen to the announcements for practice times and dates.

Upcoming District Cross Country Meets are scheduled for:

Thursday, April 14th - 1:15 pm at Edgehill Elementary

Thursday, April 28th - 3:30 pm at Sunset Park

The following students will be recognized at our assembly on Wednesday, April 6th

Parents of Grade 4 and 7 students will soon be receiving a letter asking them to participate in a

Satisfaction Survey. The survey is put out by the Ministry of Education to find out how people

feel about what is happening at Edgehill. Grade 4 and 7 students will all participate in a similar

survey. These results are really important to the staff of Edgehill and we value any feedback.

Please watch for your letter in the next week. If you have any questions, feel free to contact

Mrs. Gaudreau at the school.
