Where does the time go? The past 2 ½ years
have passed at warp speed. As the luxury travel
market continues to improve, the yachting vacation
demand is at the highest we have seen in the past
10 years. More and more people are booking their
yacht vacation 6–12 months out in order to secure
their preferred week.
So where do you want to go this winter? We
cannot say that the options are endless, but the
continual efforts by the Caribbean Island nations
and their improving airports make getting there
a little easier every day. Both the U.S. and British
Virgin Islands continue to be popular cruising
destinations. With a plethora of flights available
into San Juan, Puerto Rico and short connecting
flights, a hop to the Virgin Islands is a very
popular choice. St. Maarten and Antigua provide
simple embarkation and disembarkation ports for
guests coming to/from North America, Western
Europe and South America. A bit further south,
St. Lucia & St. Vincent compete to get visitors
to their beautiful islands.
There are more yachts available for charter
in 2014 than there were just a few years ago.
Because of this increase in competition, yachts
have continued to improve service, offer more
amenities and add more toys for guests to enjoy.

On the larger motor yachts, waterslides are
becoming the norm.
The increasing number of yachts in the luxury
charter pool has made our job even more
important. We continue to travel the world
attending boat shows and fam-trips to inspect
vessels and meet with their captains and crew.
On a sad note, we want to pass along to you the
news that one of our long-time charter brokers, Rikki
Davis, passed away at the end of June. For over 30
years Rikki booked yacht charters in every corner of
the world. As a pioneer in the charter industry, many
portions of the MYBA charter contract were written
because of Rikki’s experiences.
To whet your travel appetite we leave you with
a wonderful charter itinerary out of St. Lucia or
St. Vincent. We look forward to working with you
on your next yachting vacation and we thank
you for giving us the opportunity to share our
knowledge and experience with you and create
that perfect vacation.
All the best,
Maggie Vale, Mary Vice-Copeland, Laura Berton,
Lara-Jo Houghting, Kaisa Pace and Ben Osborn.

ST. LUCIA | Although guests could spend an entire
week chartering in St. Lucia alone, our sample
itinerary heads south into the Grenadines. Most
guests will board their yacht in Marigot Bay, a little
more than an hour drive from the airport. Guests
can spend time in St. Lucia exploring the national
park’s well-laid trails or zip lining over the rainforest’s
canopy before the yacht heads south past the
Pitons and onto St. Vincent. For those chartering a
sailing yacht, the open sea between St. Lucia and
St. Vincent (approx 30 miles) offers exciting sailing.
ST. VINCENT | For those who desire to spend extra
time in the Tobago Cays, we recommend beginning
in St. Vincent where the yacht will be 10–15 minutes
away from the airport near Young Island.
DAY ONE | Meet your captain and crew in St.
Vincent and settle in with a tour of the yacht and
lunch onboard. Spend the afternoon and evening
anchored off Chateaubelair on the west coast of
the island. The remote town, a large fishing village
with many untouched beaches, epitomizes true
Caribbean culture. Cap off the day with a relaxing
dinner prepared by the yacht’s chef.
DAY TWO | Explore Chateaubelair’s many local
attractions, including Trinity Falls, Dark View Falls,
and the rock carvings believed to have been
left by Carib Indians. The visit to Dark View Falls
requires a very exhilarating river crossing. You
won’t get wet though. The crossing is in the form
of a bridge made of long bamboo poles. The pools
at the bottom of the Falls are great for relaxing in.
DAY THREE | Cruise to the island of Bequia and
anchor in picturesque Admiralty Bay. Bequia is
tailor-made for sailing enthusiasts and beach lovers.
Tour the island known as “Tropical Nantucket” and
get up close to the sea turtles at Old Hegg Turtle
Sanctuary. Find yourself swimming with them during
your snorkeling or diving expedition.
DAY FOUR | Cruise to Mustique during breakfast
and pick up a mooring in Britannia Bay and be sure
to grab lunch at Basil’s Bar. After lunch find solitude
in a walk or horseback ride around this gorgeous
island. Grab a mask, snorkel and fins and explore
the underwater sea life while the rest of your group
enjoys the beautiful beaches and turquoise waters.
DAY FIVE & SIX | Welcome to Tobago Cays—the
intimate cluster of five uninhabited cays, heavenly
lagoons full of coral reefs, green turtles, colorful fish
and clear waters. The Tobago Cays Marine Park is one
of the world’s most awe inspiring island destinations.
Walk to every corner of the yacht’s deck and just look
out and relax. No camera will do the view justice.
Every yacht captain has his or her favorite spot. Put on
the swim suit, mask, snorkel and fins, and jump in. Kite
and wind surfers can gear up for a thrilling afternoon.
You won’t want to leave. During dinner the yacht
heads to Petit St. Vincent to anchor for the night.
DAY SEVEN | The last day onboard has you cruising
to Grenada. Spend an extra night onshore and
explore “Spice Island” and her history. Make plans
with the Captain to come back next year to enjoy
Union Island, Palm Island, Canouan and Carriacou.
The perfect Caribbean charter. ST. LUCIA AND ST. VINCENT OFFER IDEAL BEGINNINGS TO A YACHTING VACATION.
