When we speak to Chinese calligraphy ,we cannot but think of Wang Xizhi,who is widely known to every household. Wang Xizhi, a great calligrapher in the eastern Jin dynasty ,whose works became fashionable in the country ,was honorably called Calligraphy Sage. He not only is well-known to the world for his calligraphy renovation ,but also has left a good name forever for his devoting all his life to Chinese calligraphy and making historic achievements.

Wang Xizhi had been very interested in calligraphy since his childhood. Every day after his practice, he would wash the writing brush and ink-stone in his pool . After a considerable period of time, the water in the pool was blackened. Having experienced more than one thousand years, the pool still remains black .

The bridge is called Winding Bridge, where there are carvings about twenty-four dutiful sons in ancient China.There were seven ones in Linyi. A legendary story related to Wang Xizhi is Lying on Ice Seeking Carps. Wang Xiang was Wang Xizhi‘s eldest great -grandfather. His mother died when he was a child and his stepmother maltreated him by every means .However ,Wang Xiang showed great filial piety to her. In a winter ,her stepmother was seriously ill and wanted to eat carps .Wang Xiang took off his clothes and lay on the iced river ,in an attempt to thaw the ice and find a carp. The God ,who was moved by his sincerity ,ordered a carp to jump out of the ice .Since then ,the story of lying on ice for seeking carps was widely spread.
