How placid I was 12 years old.

If someone asked me, “Would you like to ride on a time machine and visit yourself

when you were 12 years old?” I would answer, “Yeah. I really want to do.” When I faced

difficult problems, I would rather take a detour than take the bull by the horns. I was

always shy before my friends, so I have few friends. I studied hard but I never dreamed

of an enormous dream. When I was younger, I was less confident and hesitated, what

is Worse, I never tried to overcome the problems which I faced.

Therefore, I stayed in a comfortable house, resulted in what I am. These days, I

am very regretful having been hesitation. When I ride on the time machine going back, I

will encounter everything bravely. From now on, I will earnestly devote myself to making

the world warm- hearted and reliable. The following essay will share three lessons what

I would give to my twelve years-old self: be ambitious for the future, try your best, and

generous to others.

Whenever a new semester began, my principal made a speech: "Boys! Be

ambitious and you can make the whole world happier and the ambition should be for

others happiness." His address was very impressive and had me want to study hard to

come true my dream. His speech encouraged me to study hard but it was not persistent.

I wanted to be a great businessman hiring so many employees that they could make

enough money and manage to support their whole family. Nowadays, there are too

many crimes, too many homeless, too many unemployed. If I were a great

businessman hiring so many people, I could devote myself to making many people earn

money so that there are few people worrying his family and his life. I want to be a great

businessman like Bill Gates, who founded micro-soft. He is now running great global

computer companies and hiring many employees. He contributed himself to opening new

computer generation and donor a great amount of money to charity and scholar ship. He

is also playing a moral duty as well sincerely. Then, how can I be a business like Bill. I

should have concentrated on studying and experienced volunteering works as well. The

principal’s voice still remains in my heart.

When I was twelve years old, I transferred to a big city. I was not accustomed to

the surroundings. City boys seemed to be more intelligent and smarter than I. I took a

math exam which I was never taught before. It was natural that I should get a low

grade. But it made me shrink from all the school activity. Actually they were not better

as they looked. As days passed, I used to the surroundings and I realized that if I work

harder, I could also get a good grade and reach my goals. I was not bad nor a diligent

boy. Beginning always was great but the goal was not specific and I did not do my best.

Whenever I met a difficult wall, I easily give up. I am ashamed of not having been

passion. Now I am in the middle of forties and I have much time to do something great

to benefit others. I encourage my student and my sons to try his best, as I am anEnglish teacher. Boys and Girls! Whenever you face some difficult steps, don not limit

yourself in the small area. Be persistent in your problem and you overcome it. Try your

best and you will have a prospect view.

Knowing one’s priorities is a really important step to find satisfaction in life.

If I want to be satisfied forever, what would I do first? I was selfish and focused on

my interest. I did not have space to share others. So I did not have friends around me.

When we conducted a team work, I usually did as much as others did. I did not suffer a

loss. I am very regretful that I was not generous to others. It took me to realize that I

cannot live all alone. Many people respect generous person than a smart one. I forgot

most friends when I made in school days. I will never forget the person who always kind

to us and yielded his benefits. Someday I come across him, I will repay whatever he

wants. A good deed never goes unrewarded.

I just came back today and have enjoyed traveling by the time machine going

back to my twelve years old. I have complained about poor conditions. I did not do

something steadily. There are many outstanding persons who overcame their poor

condition. They were very poor and someone was serious handicapped. They never gave

up their dreams, though. They were always ambitious for the future, tried to their best,

and they accomplished great of achievement. Moreover, they never used their success

for them and they shared their achievements with other. It is a crime to waste time

without thinking. I will always be an enthusiastic in order to achieve my dream.
