Hassan is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Islamic and MiddleEastern Finance and Management and Senior editor of the International Journal ofEmerging Markets. He is also on the editorial board of Research in InternationalBusiness and Finance, International Review of Economics & Finance and Pacific-Basin Finance Journal. He has been providing consultancy to InternationalMonetary Fund, World Bank, Transparency International Bangladesh, AfricanDevelopment Bank , Islamic Development Bank and Government of Turkey. Hisprincipal work focuses to link the Islamic banking and finance with real andsustainable economy. After receiving his doctorate, Dr Hassan joined theDepartment of Economics and Finance at the University of New Orleans. AtUniversity of New Orleans, he was also awarded honorary position of Bank OneProfessor in Business and Hibernia Professor of Economics and Finance.

DR. HAZIK MOHAMED

Dr Hazik Mohamed is a multi-skilled professional with substantial and variedexperience in strategy, innovation, and operational leadership roles. He has morethan 20 years of working experience, and spent more than 10 years building start-ups and business consulting, where he has consulted for MSMEs and MNCs onvarious business-related issues. His past corporate clients also include the ASEANSecretariat, national finance offices, and the UNCDF.

Hazik is the published author of Belief and Rule Compliance (Elsevier, 2018) onbehavioural economics, Blockchain, Fintech and Islamic Finance (De Gruyter, 2018)and Beyond Fintech (World Scientific, 2020) on digital concepts and applications.His wide research interests include financial inclusion, sustainable development,and new technologies that advance them. Currently, he is working on businessgrowth strategies for start-ups and is engaged in various consulting projects.

Managing Director of iFINTELL Business Intelligence – a data analytics firm thatprovides support for researchers, academicians and industry players to excel intheir research and development works. Previously, he worked as a member of thesecretariat at Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) and Research Scientist atCenter of Social Innovation, Petronas University of Technology. Dr. Mobincompleted his PhD in Islamic Finance from International Center for Education inIslamic Finance. His research interest includes Financial Inclusion, socialsustainability, financial technology and Data analytics. Prof Mabrouk is a scientist and an author of Islamic law, Islamicphilosophy of science, and the structure of human cognitive abilities. Hereceived his PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering fromBoston University in 1998. His PhD dissertation work won the first-placeaward for the most innovative research work in Boston University in1997. Over the past thirty years, Dr. Mabrouk has worked for industry andacademia in various technical and managerial capacities across threecontinents. He worked with Bell Labs Innovations, US, and ZarlinkSemiconductors, Canada, on the development of microelectronic chipsfor wireless communications. He moved to Malaysia in 2003 and led thewireless broadband team in MIMOS Berhad, which developed the firstmulti-million gate system-on-chip in Malaysia.

AP DR AHCENE LAHSASNA

Associate Professor Dr. Ahcene Lahsasna is currently the Chief ExecutiveOfficer of Salihin Shariah Advisory, he is also the Vice President of theMalaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC) (Malaysia), and the AcademicDirector of Singapore Islamic Finance Academy (SIFA) (Singapore). He washolding the position of Deputy Director of the Centre of Research. Also, ProfAhcene Lahsasna is a founding member and Board of Director of theInternational Academy of Financial Consumer (IAFICO) in South Korea. Heis equipped with industry experience acting as Shariah advisor for Islamicbanking, Islamic capital market, Takaful, Re-Takaful locally andinternationally, involved in approving billion dollars Sukuk deals forcorporate and governments. He is also FAP (FAA Accreditation Panel)appointed by the Finance Agency Accreditation. Prof Ahcene Lahsasna iscertified Trainer by CIBAFI (General Council for Islamic banks and financialinstitutions in Bahrain), he is also certified Professional trainer (CPT), by theFAA (Finance Accreditation Agency in Malaysia). And Certified Trainer byMFPC, (The Malaysia Financial Planning Council). Prof Ahcene Lahsasnareceived the Global Responsible Business Leadership Award in 2017, forIslamic Financial Excellence. The award was organized by Asia Pacific CSRcouncil, and supported by United Nations Global Compact. In 2018 hereceived the GIFA award, the global Islamic finance award for the bestemerging Shariha Advisory services.

received his Bachelor of Economics from Universiti Utara Malaysia in2001. He received his MSc. in International Business in 2002 and hisPhD in Economics in 2010 from Lancaster University, United Kingdom.He is currently an Assoc. Professor at the School of Economics, Financeand Banking at Universiti Utara Malaysia, where he also teachesStatistics, Microeconomics and International Trade. To date he haspublished more than 20 papers in SCOPUS indexed and refereedjournals and on a variety of subjects including oil priceshocks,comparative advantage of trade and exchange rate modeling issues. Hehas applied various methods in his research which includes Panel VAR,SURE, Threshold, Panel Quantile and such.

Hardyman is currently an academician at the UNIMAS. His main areas ofresearch are computational linguistics and artificial intelligence, withemphasis on developing computational methods for sentiment analysisand text summarisation. Hardyman and his collaborators are recipientsof the best paper award at NLDB in 2017. Over the last few years he hasbeen interested in statistical techniques for natural language generation.His research in this area has included work in the subareas of textsummarisation, topic modelling, and, more recently, opinionsummarisation through word statistics, linear approach, and lexicalresource acquisition through statistical means.

DR. MOHAMAD HARDYMAN

DR SHISHIR ALAM

M. K. ALAM has received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and ElectronicEngineering at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) in Malaysia. He has astrong engineering background and 5+ years of experience in predictivemodelling, data analytics, signal processing, anomaly detection, naturallanguage processing, data mining and machine learning algorithms to solvechallenging industry problems. Involved in Python and MATLABcommunities and passionate about learning artificial intelligence. Hisresearch interest in the field of data science are time-series data analysis,time-series prediction, anomaly detection, data clustering, data aggregationand data compression. Currently, He is working as data analytics under theCentre for Smart Assistive and Rehabilitation Technology (SMART),Institute of Health and Analytics in UTP.

Mohamed is an experienced global banker with 17 years working in theindustry across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He started hisworking career as a graduate at Deutsche Bank in London in 2003 androse through the ranks to become a Director in Finance for GlobalCredit Trading. He left Deutsche Bank in 2019 to join BRB Digital asGeneral Manager of Digital Operations, driven by the ambition to be atthe forefront of digital banking and financial inclusion in thePhilippines. Mohamed graduated with a 1st Class Honours degree inBSc Economics from the University of Warwick in England and hascompleted the Program for Leadership Development (PLD) at HarvardBusiness School in 2018.He is an innovative thinker, skilled inleadership, talent development, change management, financialproducts and financial technology.
