Welcome to our Spring Season 2012. Thisyear is set to be great with major events suchas the Olympics and the Queen’s Jubileetaking centre stage.

Tamworth Assembly Rooms is pleased to openits doors to a range of musical acts thisseason - in particular celebrating the 60s.

Following his untimely death in 1988, themusic of Roy Orbison remains as vital as ever.Tribute act Barry Steele - who performed torave reviews in the hit show ‘Rockin' OnHeaven’s Door’ - brings the music andcharacter of the Big O back to life.

The Hastilow Drama Festival returns toTamworth Assembly Rooms for an excitingweek of one act plays.

The festival will include both youth and adultplays. Each evening will include threeproductions with two plays, while the finalawards will take place on the Saturday evening.Each night a GODA, (Guild Of DramaAdjudicators) Marie O'Sullivan, will talk aboutthe plays which have been performed. Lastyear we had a full festival of 17 plays fromacross the region.

This is a fundraising concert featuring theaward winning Amington Brass Band. They willbe playing many of the old favourite bandtunes and will encourage audienceparticipation, especially in the second halfwhen we will have the Last Night of the Promsmusic with lots of flag waving and singing.

Kenny Ball has flown the flag for his particularbrand of traditional jazz all over the world.Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen are as populartoday as they were back in the 1960s.

Following on from the successes of the pastthree years, the fourth Inspire Film Festivalpromises to be the best yet. There will beworkshops and screenings of short films,produced nationally by students in bothfurther and higher education. In addition therewill be the red-carpet premiere of a featurelength film produced by Foundation Degreestudying at South Staffordshire College.

The Tamworth Gate Gallop is an event based at Anker Valley Complex inAmington, Tamworth. The event consists of a 10K race, a fun run,children’s runs and various other fundraising activities. The event hasgrown from strength-to-strength over the past few years and this yearpromises to be the biggest yet.

Come along and help raise money for St Giles Hospice while running thebeautiful course, all of which is off-road and takes in the NorthWarwickshire moors.

All finishers get a memento of the day and a goody bag.
