VENUE HIRE Hire our atmospheric spaces for conferences, meetings, workshops and celebrations. We have rooms that accommodate from 8 to 150 people, as well as our shop-café and courtyard. See the website or contact our office.

HOT DESKSEvery author needs a room of his or her own, or at least a comfortable desk and a congenial atmosphere. Contact us if you’d like to rent a creative workspace (with wifi) for a fortnight or more to advance that story. Others tell us they’ve had very productive weeks. ACCESSWe currently have wheelchair access to the ground and first floor. Our second floor will be accessible via a virtual tour. We offer regular Relaxed Visits and can book Touch Tours and BSL Interpreted Tours.

We welcome children of 11 and over but cannot supervise them unless they are booked on our summer courses. Please do not leave your child at the museum unless you already allow him or her to travel to school or visit shops, cafés, parks, libraries or other public venues without adult supervision.

Please note that some of our unrefurbished spaces have uneven floors and rough surfaces and are unheated.
