UCAS widget

What is it?

• The UCAS widget has been designed to be hosted on any website or Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), to link your students and their parents to important information about UK higher education and the UCAS application process.

• The widget takes the user through to an easy to use menu of information and advice to help applicants and their parents. The content will be reviewed regularly by UCAS so it remains up-to-date and relevant.

UCAS widget

• The widget can be accessed from ucas.com and uploaded to any website using simple coding.

• The example of the widget in situ is from Chosen Hill School Sixth Form in Gloucester, who helped UCAS test the tool.

• 50,000 users worldwide so far.

Helping advisers to help parents

Our 2014 parent satisfaction survey told us that:

• parents want information on the UCAS process earlier to be able to support their children when they need it

• the topics that interest them most are the application process, open days, and student finance

• ucas.com and guides for parents are helpful – but parents struggle to filter all the information to find the answers they need

Three more videos will be launched in July.
