CHILDREN’S MINISTRY YOUTH NEWS WHAT’S HAPPENING PRAYER CONCERNS: Barbara Ivey, Nannette Wortman, Tom Tilley, Janis Tilley, Karyn McMath Bacon, Paul Luthman, Kay and Ken Williams, Patti Wingate, Brenda Brown, Curt Poer, Polly Stadnik, Ruby Daniel, Don Posey, Judy Simpson, Judy Herrin STEWARDSHIP OF SERVICE EMMAUS GATHERING - Porterfield will be hosting the Emmaus Gathering Thursday, August 1. We circle up to eat at 6:30 p.m. As always, if you can stay to help clean up it will be so appreciated. Our own Donna Armstrong will be our 4th Day speaker. If you have any questions, please contact Wanda Proctor at (229) 698-2006. HOLY SMOKE - is Sunday, August 11. We have been asked to provide a meal for the Albany State University football team and volleyball team. We will need our Holy Smoke team to expertly grill chicken and prepare sides for 110 hungry football players and 22 members of the volleyball team. We will begin grilling at 2 p.m. and will need a prep team, a cook team, and a distribution team. The meal will be served at Orene Hall on the ASU campus at 6:15 p.m. Please consider helping with this ministry to local college students. If you are able to help, contact Pastor Robert. Epworth By The Sea We’re taking a small group of students to Epworth By The Sea July 8-12. Please keep them in your prayers as they experience all God has for them this week! Back to School Pool Bash – July 25th Please join us at 5:30 p.m. at the home of Collier & Jenna Kidd (500 Greenwood Dr.). We’ll splash our way out of summer with some swimming, pizza, and a lot of fun! Please RSVP the number of parents and kids to [email protected]. BEACH RETREAT Beach Retreat 2019 is right around the corner! Join us for NEXT: Growing A Faith That Lasts, which will help us begin to lay the foundation of a faith that will last long into the student’s entire life. We’ll have an awesome weekend of fun, food, and fellowship in Christ. It’s August 9-11 in Panama City Beach, Fla. The cost is $150, and registration is due July 28.
