We welcome both veteran participants and first timers to this event being held Monday, September 22, 2014, at our member golf club, Ramsey Country Club, Ramsey, NJ. Showcase your business, enjoy the daytime activities, and top off a great day with cocktails at the Abbey and dinner in the Grand Ballroom. The MRCC will be honoring Mr. Thomas M. eastwick, President and founder of east- wick College as The Humanitarian of the Year at the Chamber’s 23rd Annual Golf Out- ing & Humanitarian Dinner. A com- munity philanthropist, with 38 years of experience in education, Thomas M. eastwick has a proven record heading some of the most successful colleges in the industry. President eastwick is the Governor of the Private College and School Association and a founding board member of the Bergen Work- force Investment Board. He also serves on the essex Workforce Investment Board, the Board of Trustees for Pal- isades Medical Center, the foundation of Bergen Regional Medical Center, the New Jersey President’s Council, and the Board of Directors for the Meadowlands Regional Chamber of Commerce. Mr. eastwick has chosen The eastwick College foundation to be the recipient of this year’s charitable contribution. Ramsey Golf and Country Club is a full amenity club located in a pic- turesque setting surrounded by formal gardens, a delicately manicured 18- hole golf course, an expansive pool and paddle tennis courts. Their 19th century stone castle clubhouse is home to the Lakeside Grille & Bar, the famed Abbey room and ample private dining facilities which include the Grand Ball- room with seating for 200 guests, all overlooking the 18th green and Mirror Lake. The present Club had its begin- ning as a 220-acre estate called Arlena Towers,” which was carefully devel- oped over a 30-year period beginning in the early 1900’s. The original owner, Arthur Brandeis of department store and theatrical frame, began the elabo- rate landscaping, plantings and seedlings of the estate. The second owner, Joseph DeWyckoff, co-founder of the Vanadium Corporation of Amer- ica, completed the beautification of the property. On July 2nd, 1995, after years of plan- ning and construction on the golf course, Ramsey Golf and Country Club officially opened 18 holes. “We are just getting started so there are many ways for members and nonmem- bers to get involved: buy a sponsor- ship, play golf, attend the dinner, donate prizes, advertise in our journal and/or volunteer,” encourages Deborah Richin, VP Golf “This year there are also golf clinics available for those who want to brush up on their game or learn to play.” Participating in this high impact event is one way you can make a meaningful contribution to the Chamber and to the Community. “This will be a sold out event so be sure to register early!” eastwick foundation is a non-profit or- ganization that helps ease the cost of a college education by offering individu- als partial to full scholarships through donations from corporations and indi- viduals. president’sMessage

Happy Spring! The promise of a new season is

a welcome relief from the brutal winter we all

endured. But we are a resilient bunch!

So many great things are happening at the

Chamber. We continue to grow and change and

adapt because we understand that to be an

effective and worthwhile organization, we need

to stay on top of our game.

I am happy to report that we are moving forward

with the new Chamber website. The launch of

the new site should be early June.

We’ve updated the Chamber logo and have

been receiving a lot of positive feedback on it.

We are very pleased with it and think it is a pos-

itive brand improvement.

We also hosted our Annual Membership Lun-

cheon where we unveiled our 2014 Membership

Directory & Guide, welcomed 14 new members,

and presented our winning charity from our

January Super Community Spirit Showcase a

check for $11,500.

We have so many more events and opportuni-

ties planned for 2014. Please make the most of

your membership and attend as many of these

as you can.

One last item - This is YOUR Chamber. We are

always open to your suggestions and ideas to

make this the very best Chamber in Bergen

County.

See you out there!
