What will your child be learning in the Spring Term ?
Literacy:
In Literacy we focus on Communication and Language, Reading, Writing,
Listening skills and Understanding. We have daily Phonic lessons that revise all the 1, 2 and 3 letter sounds that have
been covered. Children are also learning how to spell ‘phonetically
sounding words.’ Children will read twice a week and will be tested on their sounds and their ability to segment and blend words. Children will have a story read to them 4 times a week. Activities will be prepared that will be related to
the story. This focuses on their listening and understanding skills. Handwriting occurs on a daily basis where children will be encouraged to write with capital
letters, finger spaces and full stops. www.bugclub.co.uk

rhythms and explore how sounds can be changed.
ICT lessons occur on a weekly basis. Children have access to technological toys including computers where they complete
