What: Teething Tablets Used to ease infants teething process When: 10/23/2010 Why: Hylands Teething Tablets are being recalled because the tablets may pose a risk to children from inconsistent levels of belladonna, a substance that can cause serious harm at larger doses How: Higher than normal levels of belladonna in tablets Children taking more tablets than needed ISE 427 Thomas Knerr Nov. 4, Recall: Oct. 23, Present The company is initiating this recall in an abundance of caution due to an FDA investigation of its manufacturing facility An ongoing inspection at the manufacturer also indicates substandard control of the manufacturing operation FDA recommends that consumers not use this product and dispose of any in their possession. FDA advises consumers to consult their health care professional if their child experiences symptoms such as seizures, difficulty breathing, lethargy, excessive sleepiness, muscle weakness, skin flushing, constipation, difficulty urinating, or agitation after using Hylands Teething Tablets.
