Activities:1. Teacher points and shows a few things in the classroom and asks pupils to name them. Ex : chair, book, pencil, desk2. Teacher guides pupils to read the songs lyrics with the correct pronunciation. (TB pg 71/ Power Point)( App 1 )3. Teacher guides pupils to sing a song Oh, My Classroom line by line.4. Pupils sing together with teacher by pointing and showing the objects in the classroom.5. Pupils sing in group by group.6. Teacher guides pupils to read, spell and pronounce the words using flash cards. ( Appendix 2 )7. Teacher pastes all the flash cards on the board.8. Focus : 2.0 ReadingTheme : World of KnowledgeUnit : 16 ( WHAT IS IN MY CLASSROOM? )Content Standard:

2.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to apply knowledge of sounds of letters to recognise words in linear and non-linear texts. 2.2 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to demonstrate understanding of a variety of linear and non-linear texts in a the form of print and non-print materials using a range of strategies to construct meaning.

Learning Standard: 2.1.1 Able to identify and distinguish the shapes of the letters in the alphabet. 2.1.2 Able to recognize and articulate initial, medial and the final sounds in single syllable words within given context: ( e) 2.2.4 Able to read a paragraph of 3-5 simple sentences. 2.1.3 Able to blend two to four phonemes into recognizable words and read them aloud. 2.2.1 Able to read and apply word recognition and word attack skills by matching words with: (a ) graphics.

Objectives:By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:1. Blend phonemes into words based on pictures, spell and pronounce correctly.2. Segment words into phonemes correctly based on pictures.3. Read a simple paragraph.4. Trace and write

Activities:1. Teacher guides pupils to sing Oh, My Classroom song. 2. ( Appendix 1 )3. Teacher stress on the words with the phoneme l , f and s4. Teacher guides pupils practice saying the phoneme f and l with action.5. Teacher introduces words with phoneme l, s , and f using flash cards. ( Appendix 3)6. Pupils segment and blend the words guided by teacher.

7. Teacher guides pupils to read a rhyme Miss Bess, Miss Bess ( TB pg 75/ PPT Appendix 1 ) and pupils mentioned the words with l , f and s sound.8. Practice saying the rhyme group by group by stress on all the three phoneme. ( Divide into 3 parts)9. Teacher divides pupils into groups , teacher distribute worksheet of secret code. Teacher guides pupils to play Secret Word game.(Appendix 4)10. Pupils compete to decode the numbers and write the secret word. 11. The group that has finished breaking the code come to the front and write their word on board.12. The fastest group will be the winner.13. Complete the worksheet in the activity book pg 80

Learning Standard: 3.1.2 Able to copy and write in neat legible print: a) small (lowercase) letters b) capital (uppercase) letters d) words f) simple sentences 3.2.3 Able to punctuate correctly: a) capital letters b) full stop 3.2.4 Able to spell common sight words and seen words. Objectives:By the end of the lesson, pps. should be able to:1. Trace and write the letters neatly.2. Complete the sentences given.3. Write the sentences with the correct punctuation ( capital letters and full stop )

Pupils learn to recite the chant and substitute the ruler and book with other things in the bag guided by teacher..4.
