Chakra pooja or Yantra pooja is the worship of a deity in a diagrammatic form. This type of worship exists in a lot of

the other parts of the world also.

The worship of Devi in Shreechakra is regarded as the highest form of the Devi worship. Originally Lord Shiva gave

64 Chakras and their Mantras to the world, to attain various spiritual and material benefits. For his consort Devi he

gave the Shreechakra and the highly coveted and the most powerful Shodashakshari mantra, which is the equivalent

of all the other 64 put together.

It is said that in the beginning God, who was one, wanted to become many and enjoy himself. As the first step to

creation he created Devi - the total cosmic Female force. For the male part, out of his left he created Shiva, out of his

middle he created Brahma and out of his right he created Vishnu. That is why many regard the Devi as more powerful

than the Trinities and hence She is called Parashakti or Paradevi - Para meaning beyond . Brahma created the

universe. Vishnu controls and runs the universe. Shiva along with Shakti is engaged in the eternal dissolution and

recreation of the universe. The Bindu in the center of the Shreechakra is the symbolic representation of the cosmic

spiritual union of Shiva and Shakti. Apart from that the Shreechakra also embodies countless number of deities and

represents the whole of creation. Hence by worshipping the Devi in Shreechakra one is actually worshipping the

highest ultimate force in the Tantrik form.

vibration) that corresponded to it. In the Vedic culture, we find much power and energy said to be held within sacred

Much specific knowledge and ability must go into their preparation and much dedication and worship is required to

achieve the desired effects.

Yantra means a "talisman", or "instrument" or " Amulet" or "Kavach" which, if prepared and created by a qualified

person as well as utilised under his specific instructions for fruitful results, will help to gain the objector objects of

desire or ambition. Although it would not be a difficult task for most of us to copy the form of a yantra, it would not

have the desired effect. Furthermore, to be perfectly honest, it would be all but useless if not created by a qualifiedperson and then "infused" with the specific energy via the medium of mantra. Otherwise, it becomes just an

interesting form or picture to look at, but has no real effect on time or circumstances within life.

Yantras should always be used on the level. If drawn on paper the colours preferable are red, orange, yellow or a

combination of these. A Yantra without bija mantras is dead. They can be drawn to whatever size is required. In

worship they should be placed level on a pedestal or pitha. Before any Yantra is a suitable object for puja, it must be

given life (pranapratishta).

A Yantra is essential in every field of your life, to attain success in your profession, to acquire wealth, to win in court

cases, to ward off diseases and to progress in meditation. By having a Yantra and keeping it in a sacred place in your

house, gazing it everyday can fulfill your desires and help in attaining your goals.

There are different types of Yantras for different purposes. They can help you to attain success in your business,bring the person under your control, and bring wealth and prosperity to you. The Yantras have to be purified and

energized before using it. Yantras energized during the nights of Maha Shivratri, Holi and Diwali are most effective

and powerful. Normally the related Mantras are also chanted in the presence of the Yantras for quick results.

It is auspicious to see the Yantra daily in the morning and one should lit incense/dhoop or lamp with ghee before the

Yantra every morning. By doing this the native is blessed with success and wealth. We send these Yantras only after

Pran pratishta (energising or performing Pooja on them).

Koorm Pristhiya (Meru) Shri Yantra" is one of the oldest, rare and precious Yantra created by 'Aadi Guru Dattatreya'

for the welfare common man. Perhaps, the thought of conceiving Yantras for the benefit of mankind was formed

during the Vedic age when metal came into being. Literally, "Koorm Prishthiya Meru Shree Yantra" means Shree

Yantras which is mounted at the back of tortoise upwards. It is also believed that the tortoise lifted weight of the earth

over its back.

Shree Yantra designed over the back of Koorm or tortoise has eight petals as in the case of the original Shree Yantra

where the flower Lotus or Kamal has eight groups with sixty four Lotus dal. It is also seen that most of the designs of

Yantras are based on the growing Lotus flower.

Here the question arises as to why Guru Dattatreya chose only the Lotus flower as the base of Yantras. The reason

is, Lotus is the only holy flower which originate from the navel (Nabhi) of Lord Vishnu. Where the God of knowledge

and creator of Veda i.e 'Lord Brahma' is also believed to be seated. Guru Dattatreya is said to be the representative

of the United Trinity' i.e. Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Mahesha. Therefore, the force which pushes man to

worship the Yantras lies in the strong belief that these Yantras are created by this "Trinity themselves who are the

creator, preserver and destroyer of the world respectively, who also control the Sun, the Moon, Planets and hence,

the whole universe itself.

Meru Yantra, like Shri Yantras, has Bindu(Point), Trikona (Tringle), Ashtakona, Samghar Chakra (destroying wheel),

Sthithi Chakra (Preserving wheel), Chaturdahkona, Ashtdal Kamal (Group of Eight Lotus), Shodash dal Kamal(Group

of 16 Lotus), Teen Vrit (Three Crcles), Bhupur (first square), Sampoorna Srishti Chakra (whole system of uiverse and

surrounded by Ridhi-Sidhi(prosperity and fame) gates in four directions of Yantra.

It is also believed that the 'Koorma Prishthiya Shree Yantra' was vividly used by the learned Brahmin community ofcoastal area in Rames-hwaram, Kerla in Seventh or Eighth Century. The Shree Yantra designed on the mount over

the back of a tortoise looks similar to the dome of any temple which is slightly mounted. It also depicts one of the

fundamental of "Vastu Kala" which says that any residential house, palace or temple must be mounted at the centre

to the top, so that the personresiding in it should get more and more energy radiation & solar reflections from the

cosmic universe or Brahmanda to be more healthy, wealthy and wise.

The Koorm Prishthiya Shri Yantra is worshiped similarly as Shri Yantra has another importance. This Yantra is

explained as the tortoise in itself is a very powerful and protected living being and can live in water and land

simultaneously, but does not harm any body and is anon-violent creature. Natural has protected the delicacy of

tortoise by providing it with a strong cover or jacket which is harmproof and protects him in the ups and downs of life.

Now a day, this Yantra is Mounted in ASHTA-DHATU. It can be had in different sizes as Small, Medium and Large. It

can be placed either at the foundation of a house, temple or at the strong room, locker and cashbox etc.

In all, it is a rare, spiritual antique which helps to lessen the ill fortune and rotten fate.

Puja of the yantras are done by learned purohits, specialised in energising the yantras by the Mantras and Homas.

The Puja is done in accordance with the rules and regulations mentioned in the Shastras. The Beej Mantra is recited

on the yantra to get it energised and thereafter Homa is performed and Ahutis by your name are given.
