Igneous RockRocks formed from hot fluid magma within the Earth.

Sedimentary RockRock formed from particles that have

been carried along and deposited by wind and water.

These particles may include bits of rock, mud, sand or pebbles. Shells, bones, leaves etc.

Over time these particles become pressed and or cemented together to form rock.

Metamorphic RockRocks formed when chemical reactions, heat, and/or pressure change existing rock into new kinds of rock

These new rock have chemical and physical properties that are different from the original rock.
