T.E.A.M. Every member of the body of Christ here at Westwood should focus on the
concept of team. May our motto always be T.E.A.M. That is, Together
Everyone Achieves More!
Together
As the body of Christ we are in this together. Paul informed the church at
Ephesus of this very thing: “from whom the whole body (the church) joined
and knit together…” (Ephesians 4:16). We are a team. We are to be side by
side companions in the work of the Lord striving to bring glory to His name.
Everyone
Every member of the church at Westwood has something to contribute to
the team. Again in Ephesians 4, Paul reminds his Christian readers “from
whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint sup-
plies…” Romans 12:4 tells us that “For as we have many members in one
body, but all the members do not have the same function. So we, being
many, are one body in Christ.” We will have different gifts just as they did in
Romans 12, but as they did, we must all use them for the good of the entire
team!
Achieves
“from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body…” Paul informs us that when the whole body works together we will achieve growth! Now that will be both spiritu-al and numerical growth. As Christians working together for the cause of Christ, leaning upon the direction, wisdom and guidance of God, we should be the greatest group of achievers on the planet!
More We have achieved some good things by the hand of God—but He is ever looking to enable us to do more as we ask Him for more opportunities to be used for Him. Let’s be like Paul and ever be “pressing toward to the goal” as we work together for Christ. We can achieve so much together for God - let’s all be an active part of the T.E.A.M!

Reflections
The nature and function of Christianity is a topic worth thinking about. In his book, Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis says that people often think of Christian morality as a sort of bargain. If we obey certain rules we will be rewarded, and if we do not, punishment follows.
There is certainly an element of truth in this view, but Lewis would rather say that every time we make a choice we are turning the core part of us into something a little different from what it was before. His point is that all our lives our decisions are slowly turning the central part of us into a person suited for heaven or into a
creature more suited for a lower existence.
In other words, our life choices are moving us more toward being a person in harmony with God, other humans, and ourselves, or else more toward being a person who is in a state of war and hatred with God, other humans, and ourselves. One direction means joy and peace. The other means madness and eternal loneliness.
How significant it is to take note of the teaching of God’s Word in Galatians 6:8, where we are told to not be deceived for whatever a man sows he will also reap.
Decisions reap consequences!
