There are three programmes of NVQ Assessor Training:

Travel and Tourism

Westminster Kingsway College Higher Education students learn about tourism destinations on a series of fi eld visits across Europe

College students studying Higher Education courses in Hospitality

Management, Culinary Arts and Travel and Tourism had the

opportunity to visit European tourist destinations including London,

Paris and Florence as part of their studies.

On the visit to Florence in Italy, the students carried out a number

of tourism-related assignments including the tour of an Italian ice

cream producer and attending masquerade ball. WKC student

Ahmed Nazar said: “The fi eld trip to Florence was great. It was nice

to do something different with the students and lecturers. The city

is beautiful and we had a great time, especially as it was Florence’s

‘Culture Week’ so all of the museums and tourist sites were free.

We learnt a lot about giving presentations outside of College

and how to organize and plan our work. It was a very positive

experience and a lot of fun.”

WKC student Josh Burt also visited some of the tourist destinations

located right next to the College in London. He said: “The fi eld trips

were a great experience for the class. As someone who spends

all their time in London studying and working, it was nice to get a

chance to enjoy the experiences the different cities have to offer

from a tourist perspective.”
