Uranium – variety of

mineralization styles

New discovery at Theseus - Lake

Mackay in lignitic paleochannel

sands with best result 9.06 m at 620

EPA approves Lake Way with mining

planned for 2014-15, producing 1200

tpa of uranium oxide concentrate

over 14 years

Yilgarn - Avon JV maiden Inferred

Resources of 6.22 Mt at 237 ppm U3O8

for 3.25 Mlbs U3O8 of sandstone-hosted

roll front mineralisation

New calcrete and sandstone-

hosted targets generated from

recent EIS-funded airborne

radiometrics in palaeochannels

at Peranbye, Yalgoo, and Byro.

Many new copper (+ gold)

discoveries in 2011 & 2012

• Discovery of DeGrussa (Sandfire Resources)

Cu–Au deposit in Proterozoic rift sequence near

Archean Yilgarn basement was a game changer

• 29 copper discoveries in 2011; 18 so far in 2012

• New discoveries in western Yilgarn suggest new

Graphite deposits near

infrastructure

• Since January 2011, flake graphite prices

has risen over 140%

• Most advanced is Munglinup River*

(Adelaide Prospecting Pty Ltd)

• Other deposits include Yalbra, Dalgaranga*,

Donnelly River, and East Kimberley-

McIntosh

• Some deposits have flake graphite

• JV’s, off-take agreements may be welcome

WA wants to attract international

investment

15

Total Foreign

Investment:

A$54.9 billion

Japan-Australia Minerals Investment Seminar, 2012

WA Government supports

new resource investment

Two strategies:

• Streamlining approvals processes for

exploration and development

• $20 million per year Exploration Incentive

Scheme (including a $5 million per year

drilling subsidy)

16

Japan-Australia Minerals Investment Seminar, 2012

100% coverage of airborne

magnetics and radiometrics

• Prior to EIS, 30% of WA did

not have modern ≤ 400 metre

airborne magnetics and

radiometrics

• In last 3 years, many 200 m

surveys flown

• Will finish entire State in 2012

Peak Hill gravity

EIS program

2009 – 2012

• 11 surveys

• ~ 75,000 stations @ 2.5 km grid

Exploration Incentive Scheme —

Government-subsidised Drilling

The Government may contribute up to

mineral exploration drilling in under-

explored areas:

• $200,000 for a single deep hole

• $150,000 for a multi-hole program

• $30,000 for a genuine prospector

Condition:

• early release of information and

public access to core
