Strategic Plan 2015 – 2019 | Western Australian Electoral Commission 2

Message from the Electoral CommissionerThe Western Australian Electoral Commission is committed to ensuring that Western Australia’s electoral system meets the highest standards of independence, impartiality and reliability.

This strategic plan sets out those values as well as the Commission’s key strategies for the next five years. Our effectiveness over that period will be governed by a number for factors: the expertise and professionalism of our staff; efficient planning and operating systems; and the external environment. In that context, we are committed to investing in our people and ongoing systems development, as well as to engaging with stakeholders and electors to maximise participation in the various elections and polls conducted by the Commission.

In each of the five years of this plan, the Commission will develop annual operational plans for the entire organisation and for each functional area. These plans will incorporate specific activities and initiatives that align with the broader strategies documented here.
