The timeless love story of Ro-meo and Juliet is transported to New York City in the 1950’s where the idealistic young lovers struggle to survive the warring street gangs in a world of hate, violence and prejudice. West Side Story is one of the most in-novative, heart wrenching and relevant musical dramas. Ap-pearing on Broadway in 1967 with exciting, unforgettable songs as “Tonight,” “Maria,” “Something’s Coming,” and “I Feel Pretty.”

Tour of Faribault Past & Present

We begin our day with a tour of the famous Faribault Woolen Mills. Then on to the Alexander Faribault House to see the Greek revival style home built by the famous fur trader in 1853. (There are stairs to 2nd floor-no elevator) Later, we will be joined by our step on guide who takes on the persona of Alexander Faribault as he tells stories of the town’s history. We will learn about Shattuck St Mary’s, MN Acade-my for the Deaf & Blind as well as the historic downtown. Our included lunch will be at Bernie’s Grill. We end the day with a vis-it to The Cheese Cave. Although the caves are not accessible, we will have a virtual tour with plen-ty of time to shop.

The Castle Rocker’s membership runs from May to May. The dues are 50 cents a month or $6 a year. This covers much of the cost of the postage for the newsletter. The membership registration is included in this newsletter. Our membership is a diverse, fun filled group. Some like to take long trips, and some like to attend the thea-ter while some prefer to attend the quarterly meetings which include the Christmas Party, St. Patrick’s Party, Summer and Fall Picnics. The board enjoys accommodating the preferences of all our members. The Castle Rock Bank wishes to thank the Castle Rocker’s Board for their excellent leadership. -LaVonne

This year, the Kentucky Derby excitement is in the air as your hostess, Lady Jane, leads the day’s music and vi-gnettes. You may want to wear your fine dresses and beautiful hats as you relax and delight in refined Victorian entertainment.

This event is held at the Crystal Lake Golf Club located at 16725 Innsbrook Drive in Lakeville, as a fundraiser for the Dakota City Her-itage Village.
