Halloween Costume Contest: Saturday October 31 Comment with a picture of yourself in your Halloween

costume on the Library’s Halloween Costume Contest post on our Facebook and Instagram pages. The

costume with the most “likes” will win a prize!

Joke of the Week: Every Wednesday in October *NEW* Every week a new silly joke will be posted

on our Facebook and Instagram pages to make you giggle and grin, chuckle and chortle, snicker

and snort because life can always use more laughter.

LEGO Challenge: Fridays October 2, 16 & 30 Create your own project based on our themed challenge and

post it on our Facebook and Instagram pages for the world to “ooh” and “ahh” over.

Monday Funday with Miss Jamette: Mondays October 5, 19 & 26 Gather around your device and

watch a new video posted by Miss Jamette on our Facebook page. Story time, draw & tell, seek &

find, chalk walks, pirate adventures, crafty time, mindful minutes and so much more!

Shelfie Saturday: Saturday October 10 *NEW* Take a picture of your bookshelf or come in for a browsing

appointment and take a picture in front of one of ours. Post your picture to our Facebook or Instagram

pages using the hashtag #WLPLShelfieSaturday.

STEAM Exploration: Fridays October 9 & 23 Kids! Ask your parents to make a

curbside pickup appointment to get your very own STEAM kit! STEAM kits are

now available twice a month. Watch the STEAM tutorial videos on or after

October 9 and/or 23 to learn how to create with your kit. Limited number of kits.

Kits are available at all three branches. Get yours while you can!

Teen & Tween Program Homework Club & Book Discussion Group: Monday October 26 @ 6:30 p.m. Help for all your studying needs, fun games to get your brain active, tips & tricks, book talks and more.

Dungeons & Dragons: NOW Every Friday @ 6:30 p.m. Calling all Tieflings, Halflings, Dwarves and Humans! Dungeons and Dragons returns via Zoom. Come join the adventure.

Teen & Adult Program Podcast Club: Thursday October 15 @ 6:30 p.m. Do you love podcasts? Are you a long-time listener or have you recently discovered them and want to expand your experience? Join us for this monthly program.

Book Discussion Group: Wednesday October 7 @ 2:00 p.m. Reading enthusiasts discuss what they’re

reading and in-turn discover new great reads.

Jam Sessions: Wednesdays October 14 & 28 @ 7:00 p.m. Join Aaron in his home studio for virtual jam

sessions. Drummers, guitar, bass, keyboard, ukulele—all players and experience levels welcome.

Tech Tuesdays: Tuesdays October 13 & 27 from 2:00p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Book your 30-minute phone-in or

Zoom meeting tech help appointment by calling or emailing any of the library branches.

In-House Adult Programs Have Returned!

Book Club: Smithville Branch — Thursday October 22 @ 2:30 p.m. This month’s title is The Sat-

urday Night Ghost Club by Craig Davidson. Copies of the title are available in Smithville and through

Overdrive. Limited space available.

Knitting Circle: Caistorville Branch — Tuesday October 13 @ 2:30 p.m.; Wellandport Branch —

Wednesday October 28 @ 2:30 p.m. Beginner and skilled knitters and crocheters are invited to

attend this in-house program. Please register your attendance. Limited space available.

Special Events Black Goat Farm & Sanctuary Virtual Tour: Saturday October 17 @ 11:00 a.m. Come meet

Megan at Smithville’s own Black Goat Farm & Sanctuary. Tour the farm, meet the residents,

and engage in a Q & A at the end. Please register your attendance. A Zoom invitation will be

sent to those who register with a valid email address.

Social Circle Trivia Night: Thursday October 29 @ 7:00 p.m. Gather your social bubble

teams and battle your knowledge against theirs! Teams of up to 5 players. Maximum of

six teams. Fantastic prizes for the top-winning team. Call any of the library’s branches to

register, then get ready for a super fun, physically-distanced evening of random trivia

challenges! Halloween costume-wearing is encouraged.

Wellbeing 101: TUESDAY October 6 @ 11:00 a.m. Presented by Niagara Public Health. This program

introduces mental health literacy, stigma reduction, resiliency, social connectedness and more.

Have THAT Talk: TUESDAYS October 13 to November 10 @ 11:00 a.m. Presented by Niagara Public Health.

This series of five interactive modules will help to raise awareness about the importance of good mental

health in all areas of our lives. Please register your attendance.

Cognitive Health & The MIND Diet: FRIDAY October 23 @ 2:00 p.m. Presented by Registered Dietician,

Dayna Caves, from the Smithville Family Medical Center Health Team. Ms. Caves will give an informed talk

about cognitive health and the benefits of eating well. Please register your attendance.

Diabetes/Prediabetes and You: FRIDAY November 6 @ 2:00 p.m. Dayna Caves of the Smithville Family

Medical Center Health Team continues this health series by talking about managing and preventing diabetes

and prediabetes. Please register your attendance.
