Call for Prayer
Prayer of Confession
Almighty Father; we enter your presence confessing the things we try to conceal
from you and the things we try to conceal from others. We confess the heartbreak,
worry, and sorrow we have caused, that make it difficult for others to forgive us, the
times we have made it easy for others to do wrong, the harm we have done that
makes it hard for us to forgive ourselves. Lord have mercy and forgive us through
Christ. Amen.

Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, we exalt you! You graciously answer the cry of all

are persecuted for their faith. Sustain and encourage them by your Holy Spirit.
Make each church a haven of physical and spiritual salvation. Use our tithes and
offerings to safeguard the weak and vulnerable through the ministries of this
congregation. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Tuesday night study
We are currently studying a recent sermon series by Rev. Adam Hamilton from United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, KS. The series is called “Issues that Divide: Politics, Immigration, Islamic Extremism, Healthcare, and guns”. The group will view a video of a sermon each week on one of the topics and then have time for discussion. Please join us in the church library on Tuesday nights at 7pm! This group will not be meeting this week on November 1.
Fall Festival Thank you to all helped with the United Methodist Women's Fall Festival on Saturday. It couldn't be done without all the efforts of so many people serving as volunteers in so many ways and the donations of craft items and baked goods to sell. The youth group also helped this year with providing help for the kids' games. UMW will make a donation to the Youth Group to go towards funds for their mission trip. UMW also contributes 10% of the Fall Festival profits to go towards Wesley UMC apportionments. Other proceeds help fund other UMW mission projects. And, of course, thank you to all who came for lunch and/or bought baked goods or crafts.
The Thanksgiving worship will be at Wesley United Methodist Church on Tuesday, November 22, 7:00 p.m.
The joint choir is planning to rehearse at 6:00 p.m.
The Youth is gearing up for another fundraiser, just in time for the holidays! This time, we’re partnering with Dove Chocolate Discoveries. With the DOVE® brand recognition, the fundraiser provides high quality chocolate products that people can use in their daily consumption as well as for gift-giving. These products will make perfect Christmas presents, especially for that hard-to-buy-for-who-has-everything type person on your list. All products are reasonably priced and will be delivered well before the Christmas holiday.
The Youth will be hosting a sampling party today from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. You can come and taste the many yummy samples and experience a whole new way to “chocolate”! Dove Chocolate Discoveries offers an enticing collection of chocolate-based sauces, spices, beverages, desserts and ready-to-eat treats along with easy meal-planning solutions that will have you saying, “We’re having chocolate for dinner!”

Wesley UMC Calendar for
November 13 – November 20
Our Youth Group is going strong! We are averaging 15 youth at each meeting. Our October
outing of going to the Nelson Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze was rained out, but we met at
church and roasted marshmallows on the stove and watched a Halloween movie with glow in
the dark balloons for spooky ambiance.
The leaders are continuing working on the plans for the Montana mission trip in June. More
information will be sent to parents in the near future. The Youth will be starting a fall
fundraiser campaign with Dove Chocolate which will start November 1. Perfect timing for
the upcoming holiday season!! More information will be sent on this as details are confirmed.

Sunday School Music
Your children did fantastic in singing special music for the congregation on October 16! Thank you for bringing them to Sunday School music and allowing me to work with them. Your children next singing opportunity will be with the adult choir on Sunday, November 20
at the first
service. Please mark your calendars so that your children can attend. We will start working on the children’s Christmas program on Sunday, November 6. The children’s Christmas program will be Sunday, December 11 at the 9:00 a.m. worship service. Practice for the program will be Saturday, December 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Please mark your calendars with these dates so that your children are able to sing on these Sundays. Please also do your best to ensure that
they attend music on Sunday mornings at 10:10 a.m. so that learn the songs and feel confident when they sing during the worship service. If anyone has any questions or concerns, please let me know. Kellie Burgess ____________________________
Star Givers
Members of Wesley UMC will be collecting
Christmas gifts for the Star Givers program again
this year. Watch for stars to pick-up with the
name of a child. Stars will be available for pick-up
near the entrance to the sanctuary starting in mid-
November. The gifts need to be new and we are
asking for a $10.00 minimum.
