Principal’s Message
The final day of Prep was held last Friday with the children spending the entire day with us. The children coped very well with the whole day and Mrs Cronin is very excited about working with the children next year. On Wednesday K-2 will present their Christmas concert at 10.30am and the Prep children will receive a book. If you know anyone with a child in Prep please let them know in case they have missed the notices. If you are going to join us for the concert and you have a child not yet attending school, and you’d like them to receive a book from Santa you need to provide one wrapped and clearly labelled to the office by 9am. On Wednesday, following the Christmas Concert we also have our Christmas Craft activities and disco. All children K-6 can wear Christmas clothes with sensible shoes on this day. You will find further information in the Contact. This Thursday we will be holding a BBQ and Carols by Glowstick night. The evening commences at 6pm with a FREE sausage sizzle and then Carols in the Hall. Glowsticks will be available for purchase on the night. All classes have been practising carols ready for the night. We expect the night to conclude by 7.30pm. On Friday we will host a morning tea to thank our volunteers. We have issued around 40 invitations and have done our very best to invite everyone who has volunteered this year. If you are a volunteer and we have overlooked you I apologise in advance. Please feel welcome to join us on Friday at 10am in the Hall. Thank you to everyone who supported the P&C’s Fete & Fun Night, it was certainly well attended and a big success. There is a lot of organisation behind the scenes to run an event like this so I’d like to extend my thanks to the P&C and the staff who volunteered their time so the Werris Creek school community could come together in the spirit of fun. Last Thursday I had the pleasure of listening to the Year 5 students deliver their school captain speeches. If you are talking to anyone who was there they will tell you how impressive they all were. The content of the speeches was of a high standard and the manner in which they were delivered was commendable. Regardless of the outcome our school leadership will once again be in safe hands. As advertised previously in the Contact we will hold our Presentation Assembly next Tuesday December 13 commencing at 10am. The P&C will provide morning tea following the assembly. Thank you Mrs Leonie Byrne Principal
