From the Principal…
Thank you to all those who have wished me well with my unfortunate injury, your thoughts have helped me put my best foot forward and I’m moving faster and smoother everyday. Mr Michael Hooker will be again working at a regional level next year and I am very happy and honoured to let you know I will continue as Relieving Principal in 2018. The end of the year approaches and we are very busy on many levels here at school. The swimmers have been making their daily trip to lessons at Lawson Swimming Pool and are enjoying their progress. Mrs Haynes and Mrs Moore as supervising teachers, are ensuring all students return with their belongings intact. Thank you Mrs Haynes and Mrs Moore. Our Kindergarten Orientation went smoothly and what a great group of families we have joining us next year. Our gratitude goes to Mrs Cannon, Mrs Masters and Mrs Bond for their efforts in ensuring the success of this program. At this time of year we remind our
community to check the school’s lost property baskets for any items that have gone astray. There are many jumpers and lunchboxes amongst other things and these will go to Samaritan bins at the end of the year so please, check lost property. If you are moving away and won’t be returning to the school in 2018 please let us know by phoning or popping into the school office. At this time of year we are all
preoccupied with the upcoming
holiday season. Let’s remember to
slow down and enjoy the last couple of
weeks of our school year. The
Kindergarten children are now
seasoned school goers and looking
forward to Year One. Our Year Six
students are busting to move on to the
next stage of their schooling while sad
to leave the familiarity of their primary
school. Remind your children to slow
down and smile, we’ll all be on
holidays before we know it.

Soccer Gala Day
On Thursday 23rd November Stage Three students enjoyed attending the Upper Blue Mountains Soccer Gala Day.
After a valid effort we were run-ners up of the competition. A great day was had by all.

P & C NEWS
ArtFest thank yous While our final record profit tally is still creeping up with purchases of cards and prints the P & C want to extend a huge thanks to our hardworking 2018 ArtFest Committee. They are: Kathryn Murphy, Fiona Gibson, Sandie Naumann, Leonie Packer, Lauren Halse, Beck Keep, Nat O’Connor, Rhonda Santi, Elise Okinew, Erica Gander, Kate Holden, Helen Thomson, Michelle Doake, Jo Griffith, Jo Stewart, Cat Swan and anyone else we might have forgotten.
“ I was very happy to be the winner of one of the Artfest raffles to see ‘The Gruffalo’ live on stage at The
Seymour Centre in the city. There was music, singing and dancing as we followed the story of the brave little
mouse, through the deep dark wood, in the search for a nut to eat. My whole family laughed and cheered.
We also roared, as we helped the little brown mouse scare the owl, fox and snake away. My favourite
character was the snake who spoke with a Spanish accent and shook the maracas. We loved it so much we did-
n’t want it to end. Thank you to the Artfest committee for organising such a wonderful prize. We give it
FIVE HUGE GRUFFALO STARS *****.” - Tully Connelly, K1C

Clothing Pool Thank you for supporting the clothing pool through your purchases and quality donations throughout 2017. This volunteer service has provided the school community with a place to purchase second-hand quality uniforms two days a week during term 1 and every Wednesday morning throughout the remaining school terms. While our main aim is to provide a service of supplying quality pre-loved uniforms at affordable prices (rather than fund-raising), we have managed to raise over … $1,350 for the school! An amazing achievement! Especially when our prices range from $3-$10 and this service relies on receiving your quality donations and purchases to make it all happen. REMINDERS:
Opening times for Clothing Pool for remainder of Term 4
Day: Wednesday Time: 8:30 -8:50am Where: inside foyer of classroom 1D Last day for drop-offs and purchases for 2017: Wednesday 13 December
Seeking quality donations for 2018
Has your child has outgrown their uniform? Is it in good condition? Could the uniform be: re-sold or would you buy it, if the item was for sale at the clothing pool?
Please drop off any quality (and clean!) school uniforms before Wed 13 Dec, so we can get them ready and sell them
straight-up, when school returns late Jan.
We’re unable to accept items that have holes or are threadbare – you’ll need to recycle these.
Opening times for Clothing Pool - Term 1, 2018
The clothing pool will re-open for business on Wed 29 Jan and Friday 2 Feb 2018. Then we’ll open two days during Term 1 (as this is our busiest period for drop-offs and sales).
Clothing Pool is CASH only
Your quality donations and purchases allow for funds from this service to be diverted straight back to the P&C – so thank you
and keep up the great work!
