Job shadowing (or work shadowing) is a popular on-the-job learning, career development, and leader-ship development intervention. Essentially, job shadowing in-volves working with another employee who might have a dif-ferent job in hand, might have something to teach, or can help the person shadowing him or her to learn new aspects related to the job, organization, certain behaviors or competencies. Teachers will leave this session with a flash drive of materials, lessons for step-by-step on how to create a job shadow pro-gram at their school, and resources for business connections.

STOP the Invasion! 10-100 Consultant Mike Albiani Presenter Liz BaskinDescription: Participants will receive a copy of CFAITC’s newest set of fact sheets that highlight six different invasive species found in California. The resource includes factual information about invasive species’ habitats, why they are a problem, and how they can be controlled. Along with fantastic facts, lesson ideas, and a full lesson plan, the fact sheets are aligned to California Common Core and Next Generation Sci-ence Standards. The workshop will consist of hands-on dem-onstrations from the factsheets including developing a pub-lic service announcement that can be used to educate other students, family, neighbors, or community members about an invasive species in their area.
