E-Learning Journeys
The Purpose of this e-booklet is to prepare students in year 11 with an understanding of the structure and pathway for each subject.
Every subject journey contains vital information such as:
· Exam board information
· Key staff
· Key dates of mock and final examination
· Submission breakdown which show the % value of coursework or exam
· Support resources
· A modular breakdown of what is being taught, what needs completing and key deadlines
As a student, parent or mentor, one can collate all the subjects studying and plan for effective completion of each subject

- Personalised Progress card tracker.- Key information- Target for Progress 8 (P8) = +0.5- Target for Attendance is 95%- English and Maths Count for double points!
-Students will receive a progress card per module so they can track their own learning.
- Quality Assurance: form tutors will be checking, random checks will be made by the Senior Leadership Team, class/subject teachers will check alongside your mentors

The graph above measures the average point gained from the beginning of the reward programme to the results.
- Students who achieved reward 2+ increased their overall grade by around a grade
- Students who achieved reward 5+ increased over 1 grade
- Students who achieved reward 7 increased over 1.5 grades
- Dylan Thandi - P8 score of 2.8 - That’s nearly 3 grades higher than his target!

the end of year 10.
● Students will sit a full English Language mock in November.
● Students will be given Literature examination questions
throughout the year through interval learning.
● Students will complete a walking- talking Literature mock in
February.

GCSE Combined Science● There is no coursework or controlled assessment.
Assessment is exam-based only.

● This is double award and so counts as 2 GCSEs. The grade or level will appear on your final exam
certification in this format 9-9 to 4-4 if you sit the higher
level papers, or 5-5 to 1-1 if you sit the foundation level
papers. The decision as to which paper your
son/daughter will sit is dependent on their Dec 2018
mock results.

What has changed for GCSE Geography?
● There is no controlled assessment
● Students are instead asked questions about their fieldwork and have to apply knowledge in the exam.
● It is not tiered- everyone has to sit the same paper.
● Questions get progressively harder…. and the exam is harder!
● Students have large quantities of information that they have to remember, as well developing coherent arguments.
What do the students need to know?
This has 7 questions but students only need to answer 4.

PQ3- Coastal landscapes in the UK
PQ4- River landscapes in the UK
PQ1- Urban issues and challenges

Given information 4 weeks before exam to study in class and then apply to exam questions
Q2.Fieldwork
Students have to remember what they did, why and how to improve their fieldwork.

• Students are covering key content and case studies in class time.
• Lessons are based around exam questions and techniques which are then marked and students are given opportunity to improve answers
