Plate collection for Scottish Catholic Education Services

ENTRY

You alone are holyand you alone are Lord

and you alone are the most high

Jesus Christ our Lord

Penitential Rite: Russian Kyrie

THE WORD

Matthew is called the teaching gospel.

Each Sunday until Lent we are listening to the

“Sermon on the Mount”

OLD TESTAMENT

ISAIAH 49. 14, 15

God will not forget us

PSALM 62 O God you are my God aloneWho eagerly I seek

Though longing fills my soul with thirstAnd leaves my body weak

Just like a dry and barren landAwaits a freshening shower

I long within your house to see your gloryAnd your power.

Your faithful love surpasses lifeEvoking all my praise

Through every day to bless your nameMy hands in joy I’ll raise

My deepest needs you satisfyAs with a sumptious feast

So on my lips and in my heartYour praise has never ceased.

Throughout the night I lie in bedAnd call you Lord to mind

In darkest hours I meditateHow God my strength is kind

Beneath the shadow of your wingI live and feel secure

And daily as I follow closeYour right hand keeps me sure

EPISTLE

First Corinthians 4. 1 - 5

We are servants of God

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluiaDeacon sings verse

GOSPEL

MATTHEW 6. 24 – 34

It is impossible to love God and money

Mount of the Beatitudes overlooking Sea of Galilee

Creed We believe in one God the Father the Almighty,Maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen & unseen (pause)

We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God,eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, light from

light, true God from true God, begotten not made, of one being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven. By the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate of the Virgin Mary and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, suffered death and was buried. On the

third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come

again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end (pause)

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord the giver of life who proceeds from the Father & the Son. With the Father & the Son he is worshipped & glorified. He has spoken thro the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic & apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism for the

forgiveness of sin. We look forward to the resurrection of the dead & the life of the world to come

I will never forget you my peopleI have carved you on the palm of my

handI will never forget you

I will not leave you orphanedI will never forget my own.

Does a mother forget her babyOr a woman the child in her womb?Yet even if these forget, yes even if these forget, I will never forget my
