Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Last Sunday, I re-read A 5th portion of Chicken Soup for the Soul: 101 Stories to the heart and

rekindle the spirit of fathers. Authors: Jack Canflied and Mark Victor Hansen. Just like the first

time, I read this book in one sitting. These powerful and beautiful stories are written from every

point of view—fathers, sons, grandfathers, mothers, and wives—everyone who has been deeply

touched by heroic acts and life of fathers.

This Sunday, God our Father calls us to ‘Follow’ Him. How do we do that? Reading the four

Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—is a good starting point to come to know Jesus and

his ways more fully. We apprentice our lives with him. We commit to listening, obeying, and

allowing Him to shape our lives. Let us hear what St. Paul said: “For freedom Christ set us free;

so stand firm and do not submit again to the yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1.)!

El domingo pasado, volví a leer la quinta porción del libro Sopa de Pollo Para el Alma: son 101

historias para el corazón y reavivar el espíritu de los padres. Los Autores son: Jack Canflied y

Mark Victor Hansen. Como la primera vez que leí este libro y en una sola sesion, estas historias

poderosas y bellas están escritas desde todos los puntos de vista de los padres, hijos, abuelos,

madres y esposas-todos los que han sido profundamente tocados por los actos heroicos y la vida

de los padres.

Este domingo, Dios nuestro Padre nos llama a "Seguirlo" a Él. ¿Como hacemos esto? Leyendo

los cuatro Evangelios-Mateo, Marcos, Lucas y Juan, es un buen punto de partida para llegar a

conocer a Jesús y más plenamente. Y asi aprendemos de la vida con El, tambien nos

comprometemos a escuchar, obedecer y permitiéndole que forme nuestras vidas. Oigamos lo

que San Pablo dijo: "Esta es la libertad que nos ha dado Cristo. Manténganse firmes para no

caer de nuevo bajo el yugo de la esclavitud."(Gálatas 5: 1.).!

Confirmation at St.Thomas More is a two year program. Students currently receiving Catholic high

school religious education fulfill the Confirmation Year 1 requirements according to Archdiocesan

regulations and can begin Confirmation Year 2 as sophomores. If a student is in public school or non-Catholic private school grades 9

through 11, the student must register for Confirmation Year 1.

Preparation: Confirmation Year 1 can be begun as early as freshman year through junior year of High School. Confirmation Year 2 can be

completed as early as sophomore year through senior year of High School.If you are a High School student and you have not received
