Huntsville Newsletter!! President’s Message
Welcome to the 2016-2017 Program Year kickoff! I am Hector your new President. The theme for this year is: ”Get involved. Volunteer.” NCMA is a highly regarded organization, not only for expert training, but also for the knowledge and expertise exemplified by its members. You have many opportunities to get involved from events at the national level, to obtaining your professional certification and volunteering on chapter committees. I am proud to announce the recent accomplishments of several of our members:
Kristina Parmenter for being a runner-up for the prestigious national Elmer B. Staats Contracting Pro-fessional Excellence Award
Denise Kirkpatrick for successfully graduating from the CMLDP program
Denise Kirkpatrick and Molly Cook for getting their CFCM certification
Michael P. Jennings and Mitzi Whittenburg for their article published in the July issue of Contract Man-agement Magazine
Congratulations Kristina, Denise, Molly, Mike and Mitzi for your accomplishments and for representing the Huntsville Chapter of NCMA! I am proud to say that we have an impressive depth of knowledge and talent in the membership of our chapter. I would like to know about your accomplishments as well. Please con-tact me or one of our officers or committee chairpersons to share your news, if you have ideas for some-thing you would like for us to do this year or if you want to volunteer in any way. I appreciate your inter-est and look forward to working with you this year!

Contract Management Magazine Article
Another exciting announcement at World Con-
gress was the redesign of Contract Management
Magazine! This magazine has been a source of
pride for NCMA since its first issue almost 40 years
ago and is typically quoted by members as the
number one benefit of NCMA. The July issue was
tucked into the goody bag all participants received
at World Congress and NCMA Huntsville is proud
to announce that an article co-authored by two of
our NCMA Fellows was featured in this special
World Congress issue! Take
time to read “Who Does Intel-
lectual Property Really Belong
To? An Introductory-Level Con-
versation on Ownership, Licens-
ing and Markings,” written by
