In conjunction with the event, the archdiocese is conducting a diaper drive to assist families raising newborns, infants, or toddlers. Encourage attendees to bring a donation which will be distributed by the Christ Child Society throughout the community.

Project 2017 News, Upcoming Events & Project Updates

WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS It's hard to believe that just about a year ago we closed the church building and moved Masses to the Parish Center! Construction began right after Christmas 2016 and, thanks to the on-time work by our vendors and the guidance of our Project 2017 Committee members, we were able to re-open the church for Masses during Holy Week. Here are “before” and “after” photos of some of the highlights of the Project 2017 renovation:

We’re working on the next round of plaques for the Project 2017 donor wall ($1000 minimum). If you would like to donate before the end of the year, please contact the parish office. Thank you again for your support and generosity!

CHILI COOK OFF Feb. 3, 2018

The St.Francis de Sales Annual Chili Cook-off will be held on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 in the Parish Activity Center starting at 6:30 p.m. If you have a special or secret chili recipe or just feel that your chili is the best, bring in a pot of your chili, along with a copy of the recipe and let’s have some fun while everyone gets to sample your chili and vote for their favorite in each category. There will be 5 categories of chili to enter: MEAT, VEGETARIAN, FIRE DEPARTMENT, SURPRISE INGREDIENT AND A SPECIAL KIDS under 17yrs old category. Each participant will supply a crock pot of their chili. Beans are allowed but no pasta. The participant also needs to be present to serve samples to the voters. After the voting period is over, everyone is invited to enjoy a delicious chili supper along with all the “fix’ns”. Soda, wine, beer and hot dogs will be available to purchase. Admission is free for chili makers. Non-participants are asked to donate $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and children over 12. Children under 12 are free. We are in need of chili makers and volunteers to help out at the event. A Chili Maker and Volunteer Sign-Up sheets will be posted in the Parish Center beginning the week end of Jan. 6 and 7. Remember that the judging is done by popular vote in each category, so encourage your family and friend to come to the Chili Cook Off for a night of fun, good food and to vote for you. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help at this event, please contact Ken Cramer at 262-327-4330 or [email protected].

P E T S U P P O R T GROUP I am hoping to begin a pet support group for those among us who, like myself, are having a difficult time moving forward. Grief, emotional pain, guilt and many other facets of grieving the loss of a pet can become overwhelming for many of us and having others who share in your grief can often times assist in the healing. If there is enough interest, a room needs to be secured at the church for this purpose, date/time TBD based on response. If interested please contact Dawn at (262) 203-5472.
