CLAS offers two types of Bachelors degrees:

Bachelor of Arts (BA) Bachelor of Science (BS)

A liberal arts education does not limit you to a particular niche, but qualifies you for a wide range of opportunities for the rest of your life!

Academic Advising is a SharedPartnership (cont)Student ResponsibilitiesUnderstand the basics of UC Denvers college-level expectations and how they may differ from those in your previous collegeLearn how to manage your timeFeed your brain! Exercise and eat healthySet academic goals with assistance of advisorsLearn UC Denvers general education and your major requirements. Understand that they may be different from those at your previous collegeKnow academic policies and deadlines Understand the importance of professionalism and ethical behaviorAsk for help when neededVerify schedule

-Talk about the academic calendar-highlight some of the drop dates and help them to understand that there are financial consequences if they choose to drop courses after a certain date. 14How many credit hours should you consider taking your first semester?

At most Institutions, 12 credit hours is considered full time.

How much time should you spend studying in college?

*Minimum of 2 hours per credit hour*

EXAMPLE4 (3 credit courses) x 6 (hours of study per class) = 24 hrs. of study time per week outside of class
