Official Auction Rules

The evening’s events begin at 6:00 p.m. when the doors open for guests to view the Silent and Live Auction items.

Please use your BIDDER NUMBER for all Silent and Live bidding. Place your bids for silent auction items by writing your bid amount on the appropriate bid sheet. Silent Auction bids are increased in increments of $5 or more, unless otherwise noted. During the Live Auction, Silent Auction winning bids are determined. If you have a winning bid and you are not making any Live Auction purchases, proceed to Check-Out beginning at 9 p.m. to complete your payment. Silent and Live Auction purchases may also be paid at the end of the evening.

The Live Auction begins at 8:30 p.m. To enter a bid, raise your bidder number high in the air to attract the attention of the auctioneer. This must be repeated each time you initiate or increase your bid. Each winning bid legally obligates you to pay in full if it is deemed the high bid at the fall of the Auctioneer’s paddle. The Auction is fast paced, so place your bids quickly. Payment by the successful bidder may be made immediately following the item’s sale or at the end when all items are paid at one time. Please take your paid receipt to the Live Auction area to pick up your purchases.

UNLESS OTHERWISE APPROVED, LIVE AUCTION ITEMS ARE REMOVED AT THE END OF THE LIVE AUCTION.

Payment is made by cash, check or charge (VISA, MasterCard, Discover and AMEX). Charges are reflected on your credit card statement as “AP St. Michael’s Parents”. Make checks payable to St. Michael’s Parents’ Association. If you have any questions, contact Kathy Farmer, Treasurer, St. Michael’s Parents’ Association. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. No exchanges, refunds or substitutions except where specified under the item description in this program.

ALL ITEMS MUST BE REMOVED AT THE END OF THE EVENING.

7

We have endeavored to describe the items fairly. Be attentive to expiration dates and any restrictions imposed by the donor. It is your responsibility to contact the donor as per gift certificates’/gift cards’ instructions. Please check your gift certificate for redemption rules.

All contributions to St. Michael’s are tax-deductible within the limits of the law. The portion of any item’s purchase price that exceeds the fair market value listed in the catalog may be considered a tax-deductible contribution to St. Michael’s. St. Michael’s Federal Tax ID number is 20-5038516.

Credit Card Processing SystemAvoid Long Checkout Lines!Guests will have the option of swiping their credit cards at registration or at the end of the evening. The system internally encrypts the card information and links it to the appropriate bidder number (this is secure…no one can access the card infor-mation). Guests receive printed receipts to sign, confirming their credit cards were linked to their bidder numbers. At the end of the evening, statements (itemized receipts) are printed for guests as they leave. If a guest decides to use a different payment method (cash, check, other credit card), this can be processed at the cashier’s station; otherwise, the guest will simply initial a copy of the statement and collect purchased items. If no purchases are made, the credit card information is automatically deleted from the system.
