Bring your pets to be blessed to the side lawn beside the St. Joseph

statue. This tradition is in commemoration of the feast day of St.

Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology.

Estate Donation: It is with great appreciation and gratitude that

the Estate of Td Carson has sent the final bequest from his Will in

the amount of $48,000.00. St. Peter’s Church is blessed with the

generosity of its members. In the near future consider St. Peter’s

Church as a beneficiary of your Will as she continues to provide

the spiritual and pastoral care of the People of God.

Some people do not believe in God. Why?

Certain people do not believe that God exists. They are called

‘atheists’, that is, ‘without God’. Often they cannot believe in God

because of all the evil in the world, especially because of war.

Sometimes, also, their own lives are so difficult that they cannot

believe in a good God. Some have been let down or disappointed

by believers, churches, and religions. Some have confidence only

in reason or science: they see that is it is impossible to prove the

existence of God ‘scientifically’ and hence do not believe in God.

Others, also, are simply caught up with the apparent consumerism

and materialism of daily life.

How to get more from the Mass.

Pray and sing with enthusiasm. Just imagine if you were to say,

“I love you” to your spouse or your children in a bored voice,

looking as though you were going to a funeral or itching to leave

the room. Who would believe you? (to continue)

Gospel Matthew 21:28-32 www.cyberfaith.com

Gospel Reflection

Jesus tells a parable to a group of religious leaders. He wants them

to figure out which one of the sons did his father's will. Was it the

one who said yes but never showed up? Or was it the one who said

no but later repented and carried out the father's wishes. Sometimes

people can deceive us by smooth talk. But God is never deceived.

Like Jesus, our lives can be a "yes" to God the Father in word and

deed.

Discussion Questions for Gospel

Have you ever said, "yes" to someone and then not done what you

agreed to do? Did you ever say "no" to someone who asked you

(like a parent or teacher) but then regretted it and changed your

mind? Jesus is making it clear that sinners who repent are entering

the kingdom before the priests and elders who did not repent and

believe. What do you think of this?

Sports – any slightly used summer sports equipment (basketball,

volleyball, baseball, football, etc.) as well as baseball caps and

jerseys that you want to dispose of can be dropped off in the

Church. They will be sent to the village of Fr. Vic in the

Philippines.

Hygiene Kits – (toothbrush, 20ml toothpaste, face towel, comb,

nail cutter, small bar of soap, shampoo, etc.) Kits are to be sent by

the end of this year to poor elementary school children in the

Philippines. If you are able to donate, kindly bring them to the

Church. Thank you for your generosity! Fr. Vic.

Food Containers – there are several in the Church Basement

kitchen – please take yours home.
