Opening Prayer

Acts 4:32-3732 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed

that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued

to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. 34 There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles'

Text: Acts 4:32-37Thesis: When you become an encourager like Barnabas, you are a valued asset to the kingdom of God.

Encourage = to call to ones side

When did you last encourage someone else?

Who did you encourage?

How did you encourage them?

The heart of an encourager:1. Is a giver to the greater cause, Acts

4:32-37. 2. Is inclusive of those who are on the outside looking in, Acts

9:26-31.3. Rejoices when God’s grace saves sinners, Acts

11:19-30. 4. Is a partner in success, failure, in faith, Acts 13

& 14. 5. Finds a way to lift the fainthearted, Acts

15:36-41.

The faith of Barnabas is not mentioned, it is illustrated.

Verbal encouragement doesn’t go far enough.
