Go to the College homepage at http://www.epcc.edu. When you click in the box that says “Quick Login” a menu will drop down. Click on “Smart Start”. You will be taken to the login page. If you do not know your user name you may click on “Click Here” to find out your user name

Enter your social security number or school id number

To search for your user name type in either your Social Security number or your school ID number. The school ID number is a nine digit number that begins with an “8”. Click on search and you will be shown a page with your full name, School ID number, and your user ID.

Para buscar su nombre de usuario escriba su número de seguro social o número de identificación escolar. El número de identificación escolar es un digito de nueve números que empieza con un “8”. You should have this information with you at all times.

The nine digit number is used for registration. The login ID is used for Blackboard and EPCC Smart Start.

Changing your PIN for Luminis, Online Registration, and Blackboard.

Go to the College homepage at http://www.epcc.edu. If you do not know your school ID number you may click on “Student ID Search” to find it. When you click in the box that says “Quick Login” a menu will drop down. Click on “Online registration”. You will be taken to the login page. You must enter your Social Security Number or your school ID number and your PIN to proceed.

Once logged in you should see a screen similar to the one on the left above. Clicking on “Personal Information” will take you to the screen on the right above. You can select to change your PIN, security question, address, and phone number among other items. Click on “Change your Pin” and you will be sent to the next screen.

En esta pantalla usted puede cambiar su PIN, pregunta de seguridad, dirección y numero telefónico entre otras cosas. La pantalla de arriba a la derecha es la pantalla para cambiar su PIN. Cuando usted reajusta su PIN, este se reajusta a su fecha de nacimiento en un formato de 6 dígitos. Ejemplo: 011206 (mes, día, año). Los cambios a su contraseña pueden ser efectivos hasta después de 24 horas tanto en Windows como en el sistema Inalámbrico. Ejemplos: si su PIN es 345678, su contraseña será EP-345678 si su PIN es 010206, su contraseña será EP-010206

Enter your old PIN, then your new PIN twice, click “Change PIN” and your PIN will be changed. It may take several hours for Smart Start Network and Blackboard to receive your new PIN. The second screen is prompting you to set a security question that will allow you to reset your PIN to the default (birthday) if you forget it. The answer is case sensitive and will require you to type it EXACTLY as it is entered here.

Usted puede ver pantallas similares a las de arriba. La primera pantalla requiere que usted cambie su PIN, el cual debe ser por lo menos de 6 dígitos. La segunda pantalla le pide que establezca una pregunta de seguridad que le permitirá reajustar su PIN a su fecha de nacimiento (mes, día, año). Debe ser consistente con su respuesta y no cambiar de mayúsculas a minúsculas porque el sistema lo reconocerá EXACTAMENTE como usted lo haya escrito.

The screen above on the left is the PIN reset screen; if you answer the security question correctly your PIN will be reset. When a PIN is reset, it is set to your birth date in 6 digit format EG: 011206. You may see a screen similar to the one on the right above. This screen is requiring you to change your PIN, your new PIN must be 6 digits, only digits are allowed.

La pantalla de arriba a la izquierda es la pantalla para reajustar su PIN, si responde correctamente a la pregunta de seguridad su PIN se ajustara a su fecha de nacimiento (mes, día, año). Una vez que se haya conectado al sistema, una pantalla similar a la que aparece arriba a la derecha surgirá. Si usted selecciona “Información Personal” esto lo llevara a la pantalla de abajo a la izquierda.

Welcome to the EPCC Wireless Network If your laptop connects automatically skip to page 2. Otherwise; Left click on Start.

Si su computadora portátil tiene acceso automático a la red entonces continué a la página 2. Si no es así, oprima “start” con el botón

izquierdo de su mouse.

Now right click on My Network Places one time, and then left click Properties. Right click on wireless Network Connection. Next click on View Wireless network Connections.

Con el botón derecho del mouse seleccione “Mis Sitios en la Red” de la lista de opciones seleccione “Propiedades” con el botón izquierdo de su mouse. Con el botón derecho de su mouse seleccione “Conexión Inalámbrica”. Después seleccione “Ver” en “Conexión Inalámbrica”.

Click on refresh network list. Once you have refreshed your wireless, it should bring up a list of advisable wireless network connections. You will need to pick EPCC as your wireless connection. Make sure it says connected. Open your web browser and you should be redirected to the security page.

Escoja restaurar la lista en la red. Una vez que haya restaurado su conexión inalámbrica, una lista de sugerencia para conexión inalámbrica aparecerá. Click yes on the security warning, you will be redirected to the page on the left. Enter the following information; User name: This will be the same as your Smart Start Network user name. Password: This is proceeded with the Letters EP- and your PIN if you are a student or it will be your Windows password if you have changed it at a computer on campus. Auth type: EPCC User Database Click on READ THIS FIRST before you continue. Make sure you read the welcome screen above before continuing on. Once you have read it, click on the red X in the upper right hand corner to close the screen.

Escoja “si” en la advertencia de seguridad, esto lo dirigirá a una página como la que ve arriba a la izquierda. En esta pagina escriba la siguiente información: Nombre de Usuario: Es el mismo que Smart Start Network Contraseña: Se antecede por las letras EP – y su número de identificación escolar si es estudiante, ó su contraseña en Windows si lo ha cambiado con anterioridad. Tipo de Autentificación: EPCC Base de Datos para Usuario Presione READ THIS FIRST antes de continuar. Asegúrese de leer la página de bienvenida antes de seguir. Una vez que haya leído la página, presione la X roja en la esquina superior derecha de su pantalla para cerrar esta pantalla.

Now click continue. The screen on the left will appear. Click on accept to continue. The next screen should be left open. If you click the minus block located in the upper right hand corner, it will minimize. Do not close this box. This is the only way to log out of the wireless network. You should add this page to your favorites in case you accidentally close it. https://10.80.0.10/auth/perfigo_cm_policy.jsp Remember that you are responsible for your login. Always logout when you’re done.

Ahora seleccione continuar. Una pantalla como la que esta arriba a su izquierda aparecerá. Seleccione “Aceptar”. La siguiente pantalla debe permanecer abierta. Puede disminuirla al presionar el signo de menos que esta en la esquina superior derecha de su pantalla. No cierre la pantalla. Esta es la única forma para salir de su conexión inalámbrica. Changing your Password for EPCC Wireless and Computer access.

Login to any computer on any campus with your current user name and password. Press Ctrl-Alt-Del. You should see a screen similar to the one on the left below. Click “Change Password”. You should get a screen similar to the one on the right.

Si desea cambiar su contraseña, accese cualquier computadora en el Colegio con su nombre de usuario y contraseña actual. Presione Ctrl.-Alt-Del. Una pantalla similar a la que esta abajo a su izquierda aparecerá. Seleccione “Cambiar Contraseña”, entonces una pantalla similar a la que esta a la abajo a la derecha aparecerá.

Put in your old password, then your new password in the next two boxes. Your initial PASSWORD for Windows and the wireless system will be EP-<birthday> EG: EP-011206 Passwords must be at least 8 characters. They must contain three of the following 4 types of characters:

1. Capital letter 2. Lower case letter 3. Numeral 4. Special characters IE: $@#_^&*(. Some characters are NOT allowed, you will get an error message if your password is not acceptable.

Escriba su contraseña actual, después escriba su nueva contraseña y confírmela. Su contraseña inicial para Windows y el sistema Inalámbrico será EP-<fecha de nacimiento> Ejemplo: EP-011206 La contraseña debe constar de al menos 8 dígitos, tres de los cuales deberán tener una de las siguientes 4 características.
