Fitness Clubs:6 Fitness Clubs – Located at Mulberry Grove, Laurel Manor, Colony Cottage, SeaBreeze, Rohan, and FenneyEach center is open 6:30AM – 8PM M-F & 7AM – 5PM on weekends. *Membership fees apply
Softball Fields:15 Softball Fields – Located at Knudsen Field (Paradise Region), Saddlebrook , Buffalo Glen, Soaring Eagle and Everglades Softball Complex
Dog Parks:Paradise Dog Park – Paradise Drive Mulberry Dog Park – off of Belle Meade Circle Brinson-Perry Dog Park – off of Bonita Blvd. Atlas Canine Recreation Park – 3513 Moyer LoopDudley Canine Park – 2470 Fenney Way Rupert Canine Park – 5743 Parkyn PathAll dog parks feature separate play areas for small and large dogs.
Recreation Parks:We provide a variety of parks throughout the community. These include Fitness Trails, Pathways, Passive Parks, Nature Trails and Leisure Parks.
Staff:We have over 550 staff members that work for the Recreation & Parks Department. This includes the Fitness Clubs, The Enrichment Academy, Boat Tours, Room Reservations and Special Events
Facilities:Facility conditions are reviewed on a regular basis. The Recreation & Parks Department has a review and replacement system in place to keep our facilities and equipment looking top notch.
All Regional Complexes, Village Centers, Sports Pools and Softball Complexes are supplied with AED’s (Automated External Defibrillator) – a self-explanatory life saving machine for those in cardiac arrest. The AED’s are mounted in protective cases near the entrance of each recreation center, please check the location of the AED. All recreation employees are CPR/AED certified – for lay rescuers in the workplace.
Programs/Activities:There are over 3,100 clubs and activities led by Resident Lifestyle Volunteers in the Recreation & Parks Department.

Regional Complex – the largest recreation complex consists of multiple meeting rooms, arts & crafts room, theater, catering kitchen and outdoor facilities. Oversight of 2-4 Village Centers within a specific region Hours of operation: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Village Center– the mid-size recreation center situated amongst the different Villages. These centers consist of a large meeting room, card room, billiards hall, kitchen and outdoor facilities. Oversight of 2-3 Neighborhood AreasHours of operation: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Neighborhood Area – the small satellite recreation area generally associated with an adult pool. These areas may also have a bocce court, shuffleboard court, corn toss or horseshoe pit available for residents to enjoy. Hours of operation: 7:00 AM – Dusk

The Resident Lifestyle Volunteers are leaders of clubs or activity groups that fulfill a social, recreational, educational, emotional or physical need of it’s members, supplementing lifestyle services for the residents of The Villages.
The Resident Lifestyle Volunteers work with the Recreation Department in coordination of services, scheduling, support staff, communications, facilities, and other related services that benefit the community.
Currently we offer over 3,100 Resident Lifestyle Clubs/Activities under these broad categories: Arts, Dance, Health & Wellness, Music, Social Clubs, Special Interest, Sports, Swimming and Performance Groups.
The Recreation & Parks Department in cooperation with the volunteers facilitates the use of District and Developer owned and operated facilities for the use and enjoyment
of The Villages residents to enhance their active lifestyle.
