PRESTOPerforming Arts Education Outreach at Salisbury University

Welcome to

The performing arts education outreach program at Salisbury University offers quality instruction to students of all ages, levels and abilities in theSalisbury community and surrounding areas. It is housed in Fulton Hall, where participating students and their parents have the opportunity toaccess its facilities, faculty expertise and students. Individual lessons in piano, strings, voice, guitar and most band and orchestral instruments areavailable. Various classes for pre-college students and adults are also offered.

Class OptionsIndividual Lessons• 12 lessons per semester • 30-minute, 45-minute or 60-minute lessons • Instruction in piano, strings, voice, guitarand most orchestral and band instruments• Except for piano, students are responsiblefor obtaining their own instruments andpractice equipment.

Group Classes• Two 6-week sessions (adult piano andSuzuki violin only)• One 12-week session (all other classes)• 50-minute classes

InstructorsAll professional teachers are experienced andhave a minimum of a bachelor’s degree intheir subject area. All student teachers andinterns have been approved by SU faculty.List and biographies of current instructorscan be found on the PRESTO website.

AttendanceRegular attendance is expected of allstudents. Exceptions include teacher absencesand school closings. If SU is closed, there willbe no lessons or classes.

PaymentStudents must submit registration form andpayment before the first lesson or class.Payment may be made in three ways: onlinethrough link on webpage:www.salisbury.edu/music/presto; by mail;or in person at the Cashier’s Office (HollowayHall 219). Personal checks, credit cards(MasterCard and Visa) and cash (submitted tothe Cashier’s Office) are accepted. Seeregistration form for further details.

Discounts• 10% Multiple Sibling Discount: Availablefor families registering more than one

sibling. Students must register at the sametime and for full sessions to receive thediscount.• 10% Multiple Class or Multiple Lesson-type Discount: Available for studentsregistering for one or more classes orlessons in multiple instruments/voice.Students must register for classes or lessonsat the same time and for full sessions toreceive the discount.

RefundsAll make-up lessons for student illness will beforfeited upon early withdrawal from the school. Refunds will not be given forwithdrawal during the last three weeks of the term. All refunds are subject to a 10%processing fee.

Lesson SchedulingLessons are on weekday afternoons andSaturday mornings. Specific times are decidedbetween instructor and parent/student.Students are allowed one excused absence perterm, which will be made up during the lastweek of the term or at the teacher’sconvenience. The teacher must receive noticeof the absence at least 24 hours prior to thescheduled lesson time in order to be consideredan excused absence. Instructors are notrequired to make up additional absences. Pleasecontact the PRESTO office before registering to ensureinstructor availability.

Limited financial assistance andscholarships are available.
