Welcome to our vegetable shop! We had real fruit and veg and we talked about where we go with our parents to buy food, what we buy and which foods are good for us
too! We had opportunities to work on all areas of learning. Maths – weighing the fruit and veg. Social – playing together. Physical –
lifting and moving around. Literacy – reading the signs and writing down the prices. Understanding the World – Learning where fruit and veg grow. Expressive Art & Design – Using our imaginations. Communication & Language – talking to our peers and grown ups.
Bus Trip! We went on the bus to the library in town. First things first, Kirstie had to do a risk assessment to make sure that it was going to be as safe as possible. After
that, the grown up at the front of the line and all the other grown ups continued to assess any risks along the way, pointing out possible hazards as they went
along. When we first got to the bus stop, the bus had too many people on it so we waited for the next one.
When we got on the bus, Kirstie paid the driver. As we drove along, we looked out of the windows and pointed out different
things that we could see along the way, we continued to do this as we walked to the library. We saw lots of things on our way, asked lots of questions and
learned how to join the library. For some of us, this was our first ever journey on a bus, even for some of the
grown ups. We had a really good time and we are still talking about it with our friends.
Thank you to the mummies and daddies that came along to help us stay safe on our journey.
We saw an ambulance, a real fruit and veg stall, the town hall and a man on a unicycle. Lots of us had never seen
one of those before!
We would love you to show these pictures to your
children and for you to let us know what they said about it
on their tapestry journal!
