We particularly welcome you if you are seeking or asking questions about God at this time – please do call Matthew the Rector if you want to talk something through. His number is 01787 310 845. This newsletter combines: Notices for this week (p1 – p2) The church diary (p3) Details for the service on Sunday (prayers and readings) (p4) Livestreaming and dial-in instructions (p5) Though it is not essential, you can download the order of service here (Family Worship). Churches Gradually Repening We give thanks for the churches opening for private prayer and for all who have helped this to happen. Over the course of this week considerable work has gone in to ensure the smooth running of Will and Esi’s wedding on Saturday. As mentioned in the Rector’s letter earlier in the week, there are a whole host of things that we need to consider as we open up more. Futhermore since then I was interested to read that in a survey at a prominent Suffolk church only 30% of the congregation said they were keen to return at the moment. We are having a trial run of a communion service on Monday with the wardens to assess the risks, and our experiences over this week will be reported to the PCC’s early next week to discuss next steps. Basically we are working hard, thanks to all who are helping in these difficult circumstances, and we should have something more concrete to report soon. Thankyou for your patience … just because permission is given by the government to open does not mean it can happen overnight. Matthew. Children at Church These is plenty to get involved in each week. Thankyou! I would particularly like to thank our wardens Ian, Graham, and Charlotte for their amazing support over

recent weeks when there has been so much to deal with. Your calm and competent approach has been very

much appreciated and has served us all. May I likewise mention Cheryl, and Steve & Carolyn who have been

very supportive assistants.

Collect (prayer for the day) Gracious Father, by the obedience of Jesus you brought salvation to our wayward world: draw us into harmony with your will, that we may find all things restored in him, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen

Gospel Reading Luke 17:11-19 Hear the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to Luke Glory to you, O Lord

Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus travelled along the border between Samaria and

Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a

distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, ‘Jesus, Master, have pity on us!’ 14 When he saw

them, he said, ‘Go, show yourselves to the priests.’ And as they went, they were cleansed. 15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He

threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him – and he was a Samaritan. 17 Jesus asked, ‘Were

not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God

except this foreigner?’ 19 Then he said to him, ‘Rise and go; your faith has made you well.’

This is the Gospel of the Lord Praise to You O Christ

Post Communion Prayer

Eternal God, comfort of the afflicted and healer of the broken, you have fed us at the table

of life and hope: teach us the ways of gentleness and peace, that all the world may

acknowledge the kingdom of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Suggestions for Prayer We think of all the things that we can give thanks for today.

We give thanks for the children who have responded so well to the challenges of

lockdown.

We pray for staff in school preparing for children returning in September.

We give thanks for Will and Esi and pray for God’s blessing on their marriage.

We remember before God those who have recently died and those who mourn,

including the families of Sylvia Ambrose, Stanley Burcham, Jeremy Payne, and James

Recknell.

We pray for any others who are in special need of our prayers, including, Jayne Lines

and Margaret Mayhew.
