Welcome to our Amazing Parish! We are an amazing parish because we create and nurture joyful disciples of Christ. A Catholic becomes an Intentional Disciple after recognizing they have been personally chosen by the Lord to enter an intimate relationship with Him. This relationship relies on the Holy Spirit and embraces a lifelong sacramental journey of prayer, service, evangelization and communally receiving Jesus Christ through Scripture and Eucharist. Thus, Intentional Disciples imitate Christ in everything they do on a daily basis. 1708 Horseshoe Drive • Pueblo, Colorado • (719) 542-9248 http://www.ctkpueblo.org • facebook.com/christthekingcatholicparish

New Looks for Narthex and Adrians Hal l Toward the end of June, Governor Polis and local health departments formulated guidelines for houses of worship to have services in-person, in church. Among the guidelines were mandating mask wearing and so-cial distancing. Thus, our church pews were quickly “taped” off to provide social distancing; the Narthex partitioned to have an entrance and an exit; the Hall set up with chairs for overflow as we knew we could not physically accommodate large numbers of parishioners within the church and recruited and trained parishioners to fill new “entry ministries”. Thanks go out to everyone who worked quickly to physically set up our church according to all the man-dates from the health department and those who stepped up to fulfill the mandates at the beginning of Mass. We realize that this “way” of worshiping will continue for some time and have made ad-justments to the “atmosphere”, the “ambience” of the church and hall in hopes that this will enhance our spiritual experi-ence, for Weekend and Daily Masses. The pictures are the result of these efforts. Katharine Redmond Pastoral Associate for Worship

Pet Blessing for the Feast of

St. Francis Sunday, October 4th

@ 1:30 p.m In back parking lot

(behind the Little Flower Formation Center)

Pets of all sizes and shapes are invited (please have on a leash or in a carrier)

Masks required for all humans.

St Francis is remembered for his generosity to the poor, his willingness to minister to the lepers and for his love for animals and nature. He is the Catholic Church’s patron saint of animals and the environment. Many people bring their pets to the church to be blessed on St. Francis’ feast day because of his love for animals as expressed in his Canticle of Creatures. St. Francis was reported to have an uncanny ability to connect with animals. It is said that he treated animals with the utmost respect, love, and care. Legend has it that St. Francis even preached to the animals about God’s love and concern for them!

Knights of Columbus Coat Drive

Winter is upon us and many men, women and children will need coats to stay warm. With your donations, the Knights of Columbus will distribute them to our needy brothers and sisters in our community. Please donate any coats you can spare and place them in the collection box outside the entrance to the Narthex on the weekend. The box will be available the weekends of September 19/20, 26/27 and October 3/4. Thank you for your generosity.
