Procedures• Attendance Policy
• Your child’s attendance is essential for success. Tardiness and early withdraw also greatly effects student performance. Students should return with a notice of absence when out, and a doctor’s note after three consecutive absences. Student is responsible for completing any make up work.
• Attendance Incentives: monthly prizes, certificates
• Dress Code (On District Website)
• Collars or spirit shirts, socks, and appropriate attire are required.
• 1st Offense‐ Clothing replacement with notice home
• 2nd Offense‐ Clothing replacement with notice home and lunch detention
• 3rd Offense‐ Clothing replacement with notice home, lunch detention and parent conference
• Planners
• Communication/organizational tool. Parents should initial daily and sign reading log as documentation of communication.
• Homework
• Star Incentive: students earn star points for daily homework practice. Please circle activity/activities students practice and sign weekly.
• AR (Accelerated Reader)
• 3rd Grade Goals: 20 nonfiction and 5 chapter books (18pts) each nine weeks. Please sign up to track your student’s goals!
Grades• Grading Policy:
• Daily Grades 80% Major Grades/Tests: 20%
• Student averages that are 74 and below, will receive a WEEKLY progress report for parents to sign and return. If a student earns a grade of 70 or below, please sign and return so that we know that you see what areas your student may be having difficulty.
• Tuesday Folders/Graded Work: Please clean out, review, sign if needed, and return folders the following school day.
• Stay connected with Parent Connect! • Benchmarks: Practice STAAR tests scheduled in January 26th & 27th and March 7th & 8th
• Spring Tutorials: Students who are failing, having difficulties, or not performing as expected on benchmarks will be referred for after school tutoring sessions beginning in the Spring.

Daily Schedule• 7:50- announcements, attendance, morning procedures

For the safety and benefit of our students, volunteers have been limited to room parents and designated chaperones only. All volunteers MUST have completed a criminal background check on the district website each school year. Room Parents/Parties (December/June) (2-3) Room parents are the only parents to attend Winter/End of year parties, but you may send treats for the class.
